I am in Yorkshire, Maybe its a delicacy from these parts but Pie and pea nights are very popular for fund raising events or Bonfire night etc. Don't knock it til you try it. You will be telling me next you don't eat Tripe, Mucky fat or Black pudding.

I agree they are very nice cold with HP sauce but prefer hot slightly crispy pastry with peas and Mint sauce(it is lunch time my mouth is watering).

Going shopping now to buy last few things for Ibiza on Friday.

only kidding , definately a regional thing, more popular here with pickled onions / branston pickle etc.

Tripe and black pudding - how vile, however there is a great shop in clitheroe that sells fantastic , sausages, black pud etc that hubby likes.

Trayciee, I work odd ball hours, my day starts at 0700, but I have to be at work by 0630, so I leave my house about 0600, so I get up at 0500... I'm a nurse, we have funny hours

To create the fine delicacy of Mucky fat you cook a joint of pork. After it is cooked you pour the contents into a container put in fridge until it solidifies then serve on fresh homemade bread with a little salt. Also known as pork dripping (Beef dripping from Beef).
No good for your health but is lovely.
