20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

Is anyone else in the group registered for the DIS chat room? Maybe we could have our own chat session some night.

LES, CUT IT OUT!!! IT'S NOT FUNNY ANYMORE!!! BOY I hope my snowblower starts! Film at Eleven!!!

All this beer talk is making me thirsty! Nikki, I think I might have one when I get home tonight, too! Gary, it's sounds like you might need one tonight too after driving home in the LES and snowblowing!

Alright, one hour to go and then it is off to the hot tub party and relaxing with a double beer (that's one in each hand).

Gary,

If you mean the DisBoards Chat Room, I am registered. I've found that I have to turn off my firewall to get the IChat software to work, but can do it. Thursday nights are bad for me.

The nachos are ready and the beer's on ice... We even have extra toques for those of you who aren't used to our weather... Dean, you're welcome to have one beer for each hand but remember it's the good Canadian beer 5% alcohol...
Regarding the swimsuit issue - I do not allow speedos in the hot tub so if that's all you bring, you will have to take it off at the door... but don't worry we won't look, right Karyn?
;)

I never did try a Konk Kooler last time but I've heard so much about them, I might just have to try one...

I'll see you all in a few minutes at the party...

- Ann

Great job today -- we're at 965 versus our goal of 1500.

Only 16 days until we head south. I'm thinking of really starting to make the packing list up this weekend.

Hope the hot tub party went well.

No docs yet.

Ann and Randy, I finally went to the dictionary to get the definition of "toque", which I assumed was some kind of hat to keep your head warm while using the hot tub.

After reading the definition, I'm having some difficulty imagining how you look in it in the hot tub. :jester: Do you have any picture for the team?

Definition: "A plumed velvet cap with a full crown and small rolled brim".

OK, I took them off at the door as you asked. Knew you and Karyn would be sorry........

Talk to everyone tomorrow. :teeth:

OK, here I go! Naked cannonball into the Hot Tub!!!

Whoooopeeee!!!! :hyper:

Hi all,
I have had a bum computer since Christmas and have missed everything, so I have a couple of questions...
What's all this about a Palo ressie request form? Don't we have to wait till we get on board anymore??? With 8 of us in our party this time it might get dicey if we have to wait till the end. As cast members we have to wait till all other times have been taken, but at least the food will still be the best on board!
My other question is: Who has all signed up for the Capt. Marvin's half day tour? I'm calling everyone to see if they want to go tonight. My dfil says he has no interest in feeding rays... too bad, more for me!
Now for the good news:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Disney finally opened up our cruise for cast members to book, and we got all our rooms booked. We don't get the usual docs though, we just get some boring papers faxed to us that we have to fill out and bring on sailing day. We will have no idea what our rooms will be until then, and will get the best that's left. Here's hoping nobody booked the WED suite... Already checked, it's gone:crazy: oh well, I'll be happy if we just get a verandah! I guess that's the price you pay to get a great rate... as long as I get on board, I'll be happy!
:wave2: see you all soon:wave2: Renae

Hi again,
Don't forget that there is that drink machine on deck 9 by the pool with milk, great lemonade and coffee 24/7. That should help those of you with kids who want soft drinks available. I think kids get some in their clubs too, but I'm not sure since I've never cruised with any kids under 18. Last cruise 'October' was the first time I saw lemonade there, but it's the good stuff 'minute maid frozen style' and my dh ended up drinking it constantly:yo-yo: can you say 'eyeballs floating'?
As for me, all the OJ I can get at dinner is just what the Dr. ordered. YUM!
have a good one, Renae:wave2:

Here's my 3rd post for the day!
I just thought all of you poor:hyper: frozen:hyper: people would like to hear that it was a balmy 68 here in O'town today! :sunny: When you all get here, you can enjoy what we call a cold spell:wave: I don't mean to rub it in, but all you guys talking about being cold reminded me of why I moved here from cold Utah winters! No more snow shoveling for me, thanks:boat: so, when you are freezing, just think of the Florida sunshine. I'll keep it going for you:sunny: Renae

5 AM wake-up call - everybody up? Anybody up? Snow here today but nothing like your LES. Ours is just a PIN snow. That's "pain in the neck" snow. Have a good day.

Dean

I didn't get to check in last night and wow, did I miss the fun! Dean, you have me rolling!!! :rotfl: Just what I needed this morning. And I now know what a toque is -- you learn something new every day.

And Renae, do you have any CM openings?!! I need to get out of the cold and I sure would love the booking discount, even if I had to wait until last minute!!

HADD

Oooh ooh! I know the answer to this one! *grin*

That was me, and that was due to the fact that DH bought me the "Romantic Escape at Sea" package, part of which allows us to prebook our Palo ressies as if we were in concierge level. They were SUPPOSED to fax a form to my travel agent 45 days prior to sailing, and they didn't...so in return for my TA having to call several times, etc, they apparently allowed us to book both Palo dinner and brunch (and tea, but we are not interested in that), AND the spa treatment that comes with the package, so we're good to go on all our ressies for the trip.

It was 8 degrees F this morning, so no more talk about warm Orlando! *pout*

Hey Renae!! We missed you. I was wondering if the cruise was sold out and you couldn't get on! Well whoopee! You're all settled. We're still planning the half day w/ Capt Marvins, but I didn't sign the three of us up yet. We're kinda holding off signing up for anything cause this move is so expensive.

There's only early sign up for Palo if you are concierge or have the romance pkg - so somebody we know is going to get lucky this cruise!

Great party last night! But did you have to do that cannonball into the hot tub, Gary? Oh my! With all the water gone some of us saw more than we ever wanted to! Good thing you forgot the little paper umbrellas.

I'm thinking that we could get to 1000 today if it's anything like yesterday or the day before. I expect to hear from everybody over and over and over again!!!!

Randy made an offer on a house in Puyallup. Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe I won't be homeless in Seattle!

It's a balmy 22 degrees today; wind chill 22 degrees chance of light snow. :sunny: :boat: :sunny:

Well here's to much great conversation on a gray and gloomy Thursday!

Karyn

:rotfl:

Sounds like a plan to me!!

*cough* Urgh, I feel lousy today - knock on wood because how I feel now is EXACTLY like how I felt right before the flu knocked me on my butt. No relapses allowed!! *sigh*

I need warmth and sunshine and silly little drinks with umbrellas, I think...

::yes::

Sleep well, grandma_x2/ There was quite a party here last nite and I imagine several others will be sleeping in also.

Wha? Party? Cannonball? Dean mooning the group? It's all coming back to me now. I think I need a Bloody Mary! "My head feels like a football, I think I'm gonna die! Tell me, me oh me oh my, WASN'T THAT A PARTY!!!"

It's 20 degrees F here on the north coast. At least LES has left for a while. He'll be back, though.

The snowblower started and I have a clean driveway and sidewalk now.

HADD!!! :wave2:
