Extras to bring - someone suggested highlighters for picking what you want to do each day an post it notes to write messages to other family members.

I'm bringing a small write on /wipe off board that has magnets on the back, figured I'd just put it on the back of the door?

Understand the frustration about the school stuff - my kids both have things that they struggle with, DDs being social studies. She has a test today...I hope she does ok she failed the last one and we didn't know about it for a while...now i'm being more "watchful"... ;)

Cap-Being way out here in the boonies, I don't understand all of the fresh lingo. What's the "RF" mean in those forecasts?

Dorie-sister's new family married name is Perzee, or as my dad used to refer to them as the "Wild Bunch".

RF = "Real Feel". Sorta like windchill but opposite. It's what it is supposed to feel like when you factor in things like sun/shade/relative humidity.

If you're just talking about the temp and dew point temp, then you're talking "Heat Index" - "Real Feel" is somewhat of a marketing thing, every weather company has their own formulas.

I used to work for the company (and actually helped launch this website when the web was TEXT ONLY...yes, it used to be just words on a screen...) - http://www.intellicast.com/

:)

Thanks for the explanation of RF. Kinda like the Real Feeling I get when I think about leaving NEXT WEEK!!

Juli-No way we can add an extra one, eh? Plan on a LOT of souveniers coming back. Guess we'll have to pack some disposables to make room. :cool2:

I am going to get my hair trimmed and touched up for the 10-day party. Also going to take DH's tux to the cleaners and see if they can expand my favorite expandomatic dress. I will definitely be back to answer questions later....extras I am bringing, something you don't know about us.....I to think there is not much to tell, or that I can tell. ;) What the heck am I asking that question for then!

Have fun dancing through your day everyone!

Juli

Oh, I suppose the number of bags you take off will depend on whether you are driving or flying. That is a very precise question Dean. How many bags can you take off the Magic? I think they would like you to take a lot! :teeth:

Gotta run.

I tried to post awhile ago, but I guess I had too many smilies!

Trying again:

'mornin... :hyper: :cool1: :cool1: :jumping1: doing the 10 day dance... I just called the hospital and talked to Randy... he's sounding better this morning ... I can't get in to see him until 11:00 a.m. because they do their tests in the morning. I told him you were all sending pixie dust and prayers and well wishes and he is very thankful and can hardly wait to meet every one... I'll keep you posted later... pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Cap, I forgot to mention that he must be feeling better because he's already talking "sponge bath" and "massage" Hmmm I think I should personally choose his nurse ;)

Something people would find surprising about DBF (boyfriend) Jim - raised by strong Italian mother as oldest of 5 boys. His mother swears she sent him to the corner grocery store (which she could see from her house) at a year old with a note pinned to his diaper and he was capable of pulling it off.

10 day count down dance - :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earseek: :yo-yo: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We're officially starting our packing tonight. Hopefully we'll have room to bring some souveniers also!!!

We're glad to hear that Randy's regrouping, Ann!!! Maybe he's regrouping too well!!! ;)

HADD!!! :wave2:

Hi Everyone-
Alot of you are talking about books-- so I thought I would tell you that I have my own book club. We get together once a month and usually go out to dinner or to someone's house and discuss the book. Its a great girls night out and very fun. It is really great knowing that 5 other girls are reading the same book at the same time as you! We have also gone all over together-- we went to a Women's Wellness Weekend in Galena with yoga, pilates, swimming and bonding! We went to Chicago and saw "Tony & Tina's Wedding".
I also have read "White Oleander" and I really liked it. It was one of Oprah's book club picks and I have read all of her book club picks. I have also been to see Oprah 8 times!!! I know-- I am obsessed with her! I just really admire her and all she does!

Ok-- I am rambling now! But now you know something about me that you didn't before and I talked about books! My last book I read-- The Red Hat Club.

See ya real soon!

Karyn-I wondered if you were going to poke your head out of the packing peanuts and dance a little jig. Way to go, gal, some kinda movin' there!

A book club, cool! I set up one for my work discussion board - it's unique in that it's "online" - so it's a virtual book club. It's sort of neat to do it that way, as you get more people from around the world, the discussion never really expires, you read at your own pace, and everyone's voice is equal - you know how sometimes in a group you get one loud person, and one quiet person, the quiet one never really speaks up? It worked great for the first selection, the Da Vinci Code - but this new selection is slow thus far - "The Color Of Water".

Then again, my work is for those 55 and older and the majority are in their late 70s + - so technology doens't come naturally and it's a learning experience for many. i try to help as much as possible, and it really is alot of fun. (http://www.elderhostel.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi)

I am jealous, I wish I had enough people around me that really liked to read, to do it "live"!

40fUs - are the doors metal that you can put a magnetized board on them?

Something surprising about DS Conor (now that everyone knows he's doing poorly in social studies) - he plays on the girl's lacrosse team. He loves the sport and has played for 9 years. His high school doesn't have boy's lacrosse. Conor and his dad are trying to get one started but too many other sports and not enough kids. Conor's the goalie so he doesn't have to wear a skirt.

Cap - thanks for the weather forecasts. I was going to look them up later today.

Can't make up my mind between Xcaret and Dolphin Discovery. Any feedback from others?

Yep, at least the outside is, because people bring magnets to decorate the outside, like the ones Dean made for us, that we'll be bringing along! I would assume the inside is too?? Hmm....anyone know for sure?

Karyn, we're glad to hear the kids made it safe and sound. You're more than welcome!!! It was fun having their company for the evening. I just hope we can get to Pittsburgh next Thursday night. LES better behave himself!!!

HADD!!! :wave2:
