2003-2004 body for life journal

That challenge sounds like a great idea. What a bonus. You can win prizes for doing something good for yourself. Don't worry about the WDW trip. You'll be in the world. There are lots of great low carb dishes there. When the opportunity presents itself to do lower carb meals, I bet you'll naturally gravitate towards them. Keep in mind, you'll be walking off those carbs as well. Just have a great time. Keep us posted on your challenge.
Beth

The weather has been fabulous here in MO hasn't it! Great job on the exercise! 75 minutes with stroller and 3 year old - I would have had to sit after 10 minutes. :)

~Amanda

Deb - you go girl! I couldn't imagine a 75 minute walk anywhere and pushing a stroller with a kid inside? Never! I helped push my nieces around Disneyworld in August and I was traumatized by the experience! You are really something to aspire too!

I wish you well with your challenge and I know we can all be cheat free together (well except for your Disney trip, who can blame you? ). Keep up the great work and take care!

thanks everyone for your support and taking the time to write such encouraging words.......

erin........i'll be keeping ya accountable.....did you follow your plan?........i'll be checking you journal to see if ya did!!!

doe.....that's exactly how much i'll win if our team wins too......$60. i am doing good on the cheat free thing thanks to you guys........i swear i can see ya all standing in my kitchen keeping me from straying. what are planning to do for your trip in feb......eating and exercise wise? what i do is moderation in the diet and a daily 30-40 min run in the morning to keep me from gaining while there. plan on doing this same thing in 2 weeks.

beth...just wanted to clarify that i am no longer doing low carb....i only did it 9 days....but i am trying to eat the body for life way, which is essentially equal amts of protien and complex carbs, eaten every 2-3 hours. which still comes out at a reduced amt of carbs than most americans.......i usually get <100 carbs per day

amanda........yes it was beautiful yesterday!!!!!!! i hope you got to enjoy it........cuz it's gone now.....boohoo!!!!!

lisa........i was really thinking i didnt do that much for exercise pushing that stroller.......but thanks for being so encouraging.

okeedokee baby......now on to

yesterday:

i did all my measuring things at the y and posted the results in my siggie.......the one i dont agree on is the waist at 36.25.....i am pretty high waisted and the lady measured me 1" above the belly button......not where i measure... oh well to each her own. the lady also said i need to quit flexing my bicep when she was taking the measurement......lol......i really wasnt!!!!.....she just finally agreed that i have some pretty good biceps even without flexing.......so that was nice of her to say.

oh yeah took my 5# clippie off....as i did manage to put some wt on before my weigh-in at the y.........oh well........i'll get it back soon, no problem!!!!!!

diet:A
exercise:A
water:3.5l

today:

diet:
1)butterscotch bfl mousse
2)lo carb vanilla slimfast, orange
3)veggie burger with chipotle mustard, 1p ww bread, 2 large celery sticks
4)bfl choc mousse
5)sf jello with ff cool whip

exercise:
40 min interval running sprints.......fun fun.......highest level 9mph.
10 min recumbant bike

water:
4.5l

off to read your journals.......

Sorry, I knew that. I guess my mind is just stuck at the moment. You are doing a phenominal job on the exercise and water. That 5#clippie will be back in no time. Great job.
Beth

Hi ya, Deb. I read that recipe you posted on Amanda's journal--that's the "bfl mousse," right? It sounds good. I'm going to pick up some stuff so I can try it.

Today I'm vowing to walk three miles--probably on the treadie because it's supposed to rain. It sounds like a walk in the park compared to the interval training you do.

You inspire me, jock woman. ::yes::
Erin

All I can say is WOW! You are doing FANTASTIC::yes::

The pretty weather was gone here yesterday as well. Now it is cold and rainy - blah!

You asked Doe this question but I thought I would answer it as well since Doe and I will be down in WDW at the same time:

what are planning to do for your trip in feb......eating and exercise wise?

My plan is to make good choices but to also not try to stick to only 30 carbs per a day (which is the plan I follow). By the time I leave I will have one week under my belt where I will be eating at 55 carbs per day. I will try to skip deserts and will ask for veggies with my meals instead of the usual potaote or fries. Of course I am not going to deprive myself of a Dole Whip - because then it wouldn't be a vacation! :teeth: Here is all the places we will be eating:

Day One:
Will grab the usual egg muffins here from home for breakfast
L: will be at the AKL counter service - salad
D: Caseys Hot Dogs (where I'll meet Doe!) and I will enjoy the bun.

Day Two:
Breakfast: On the run - Atkins Protein Bar
Lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe - probably pot roast or Fried Chicken
Dinner: Rose and Crown - Fish no chips :)
This will probably be my highest carb day.

Day three:
B: Chef Mickeys where I will be dining on omelets and bacon.
L: Back at the resort so salads or burgers (no buns)
D: ???

Day Four:
B: Protein Bar.
L: On the go in the park so I don't know yet.
D: Boma - yummy

Day Five:
B: Protein Bar.
L: ???
D: Beaches and Cream - I'll be doing a burger (no bun) and DH and I have agreed to order the Kitchen Sink just because you have to do it once.

Day Six:
B: Boma - omelets and bacon again.
L: ???
D: Ohanas - a meat lovers paradise!

Day Seven:
Last day Breakfast at Donald's Breakfasaurous
L: Protein bar on the plane.
D: At home we might order Pizza and salad.

So as you can see I have most of my major meals planned. When I'm in the parks I am not that big of snacker and I also don't like Mickey bars so that helps. Dole Whips and a Beaver Tail are my only must do's on a trip. Plus it is vacation and I'll be clocking some miles walking the parks. I am also thinking of paying the $25 to use the AKL gym so that I can run on the treadmill every morning.

I'm going to pick up some Atkins syrup and make the crepes you told me about next week. I can't wait! Thanks for all your support!

~Amanda

Deb, I'll be eating low-carb but won't be obsessively counting carbs. I usually come home lighter from WDW, with all the walking. I will treat myself to a Dole Whip, though I probably won't finish it. I often find a few bites of a treat satisfies me so I either split them with DH or just throw the rest away.

Glad to see you're doing so well. You're right on track, girlfriend! This cheat free stuff IS much easier with all of us together, isn't it!!

I will treat myself to a Dole Whip, though I probably won't finish it.

Hey Doe - can I have what is left of yours? ;) Not finishing a dole whip - I've never heard of such a thing! :)

~Amanda

well yesterday i decided to go ahead and take my free day, wasnt planning to, but no biggie......with bfl you get one free day a week to eat absolutely anything you want as much as you want........in the past i have truly gone all out, probably eating 5-6000 cals......i am not kidding and still was losing wt really well. now that i am lower in wt than i was i have finally come to realize that i need to eat a bit less on this free day.....duh!!!!....no wonder i have been on over a 3 month plateau.

so anyways i still had about 2400 cals.......but still this just doesnt compare to how i used to use my free days....i wont write about what i ate as i dont wanna start any cravings for any body...and i didnt exercise......as with bfl you must let your body rest one day a week.

today:
diet:
1) 4 egg white omelet with ff cheese and salsa, 1 pc ww plain toast
2) romaine salad with shrimp and orange sections, orange vinagrette drsg.
3)bfl choc mousse, 5 boiled shrimp
4) bfl pistachio mousse
5) tuna with 1t ff mayo

exercise:
lbwo and abs
10" xt
40" incline interval walk
15" recumbant bike

water:
5l

i weigh every sunday.........so i was down 6 pounds....from my wt loading(uh, i mean, total pig out for 2 days) prior to my team's weigh in at the y on friday........glad that came off fast and can help my team out at the same time.......hehehe!....now to keep getting over my plateau.......and get an even better clippie. put my old clippie back up for now. but cant change my cheat free clippie since i forgot about my weekly free cheat days that are built into bfl.....but will change it tonite for today's cheat free day.

amanda.......you have quite a plan for disneyworld..........amazing
!!!!!!........good for you.......i wish i was going a few weeks later to meet doe and you at casey's too........

erin on that mousse recipe........use a quarter packet of sf pudding not 2 tablespoons......if you make one serving......really it doesnt take much of the pudding mix to make it taste really good.

oh amanda......i wonder if you could make this mousse with splenda and cocoa powder for less carbs than the sf pudding mix and it would taste the same?.......i may try this and see how turns out........i'll let ya know

I'm repeating myself, but YOU AMAZE ME. Your dedication to exercise and water intake is awesome. Thanks for setting the bar so high. It gives me something to work towards. Congrats on those 6 lbs. Your team is probably really excited too.
Beth

Deb, here's some :sunny: for your new day. Keep up the amazing work. As Beth said, your example raises the bar for all of us. I'm glad you joined us here on the WISH! :Pinkbounc

Have a good one,

Hi Deb!

It's been a little bit since I've been able to check on you - wow!!! You are doing so well. As Erin and Beth have already stated you really give us something to shoot for around here. I am trying to keep up my regular exercise routine and when I feel like rolling over and hitting the snooze button in the mornings I'll think about you. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hey Deb, another great day on your end. Diet Rite is cyclic. One week they will stock one flavor, and swich in 10 days. Yes, I asked the guy stocking it. I wanted my Red Raspberry. I like the raspberry, white grape, and the tangerine flavors. I'm still trying to limit my intake to 1 a day.
Have a great cheat free day
Beth

Hey, Deb. How are you doing? I bet you're working out like a maniac before you head to WDW. How's the team doing?
I know that you need little encouragement to live the clean, healthy life, but I wanted to stop by and wish you well anyway!::yes:: Keep it up, girl.

Erin

thanks guys for checking in on me.....i am gonna have to keep my out for tangerine diet rite, beth.....i am having a really hard time finding the time to get on here and write in my journal. the last 2 days i have done perfect with bfl eating and exercise wise. water wise i am doing just fine too.........no backsliding here.

nothing thrilling to report.........just continue to plug along. i have seen all my teammates in the y fitness challenge working out everyday this week........so that is kewl!.......we may not win, but we will all be more fit. there are more than 50 teams.

i will weigh again on sunday morn....my size 12 jeans are fitting much better...they had been getting a wee bit tight over the holidays. .......so that is a good thing!

1)chix ceasar salad
2)bfl choc pudding

Deb, you are walkin' the walk!!

:jumping3: Congrats on the 6 POUND LOSS!! :jumping3:

All that working out and healthy eating is paying off!! You are truly inspiring - I'm glad you're here! :sunny:

Hi Deb!

I'm just checking in on you. As usually I see you are doing great! Glad to hear about those size 12 jeans. I hope to be able to fit comfortably into a pair one of these old days! Keep up the great work!

Hiya! It is suppose to be kinda warm here tomorrow (by that I mean in the low 40's) so I will be doing a walk run outside. I might not do the whole loop depending on how cold it is but I will be doing as much as I can.

~Amanda
