20 years is way too long and I am clueless PTR- help-i've got transporation confusion

Here is something I found useful. At walmart they sell these clip things for a belt that has a loop to put a water bottle on. You can clip it to your pants or bag. They are only $1.00

More great tips! Thanks

the crocs I ordered didn't fit. I sent them back and ordered teva mush. I've only had them on about 20 minutes but so far am in LOVE

played a bit on the disigns board today. I'm not feeling brave enough to attempt a tee. But I did find a nice CRT invite. It said something about dress your best. I thought it was perfect because last week I picked her up a Cinderella dress/crown at SAMs club. I figured somehow all our dressup clothes are Barbie- plus she's going to grow out of them soon. She needs it right?

I also made my nephew an ohana invite but I'm not sure my sis has anything to give him though. She's on a "I don't have time kick" .... Don't get me started
BUT my mom sent me an email today- she said she had been looking over some stuff and got overwhelmed so quickly. She said "The others may not realize how much work this is but I appreciate all you are doing for this and the reason this trip will be special is because of you !"
awwwhh! I was glad to be able to do it. Not only did it save the where do you want to eat-i don't know where do you want to eat- she watched my kids two days a week for me so we don't have a sitter. Among a million other things. I'm pretty sure I still owe her about 18 more years of my time.

Now I'm on the search for a nice welcome/ arrival letter. I think I've decided to use it and give the kids a few pins and a lanyard.

So... do I have this right?

Traveling from SSR:

To get to:
any of the parks- Bus
DTD- bus, walk, or boat
Poly or Contemporary- bus to MK, then monorail
Boardwalk area- go to DTD, then bus

now where does the ticket and transportation area come in?

First I forgot to tell you how cute your kids are. They will have so much fun,yes even the little one!
That was so sweet of your mom! It's good to have all your efforts recognized. This can be very overwhelming and takes a lot of time. But it is so worth it. You will be prepared when you walk in. When I did all my preparing and I walked into the park the first time I felt like I was home and I knew the place.
That sounds right. I haven't been to SSR (I'm not sure about the boat), but I know where it is located. I might have to go check it out. The TTC is what you go through if you park at the MK. The monorail also goes through it. It is also handy for getting from park to park, but you won't have hoppers so don't worry about that. You will probably only find yourself there if you lose something, that is where the lost and found is located. Make sure you give yourself plenty of travel time.
How are you doing with your dining reservations?

re: dining
I feel relatively confident on that. I have everything planned except travel days(not sure where we will be on departure morning but left it a counter) and the last table service for mom/ dad/ sis/ nephew. They have one more because we are doing CRT. I've asked for their input but But noone has any ideas. I grabbed them one at Tonys because I know it's safe firy "u only eat chicken and cheese" sister.

I really don't feel prepared right now. Just because I never started a binder so basically I have a jotted notebook of tips and a bag full if printed stuff. I have to get it organized this week. And my sil and niece arrive today for two weeks from Germany. Basically I'm just starting to get the crap it's almost here panic mode. Don't get me wrong though. I'm still as excited as ever!

Dd and I got our flu shots this weekend. I've been sick to my stomach and she's had lethargy/ fever. Dr was out of the baby shots already- said the h1n1 panic has everyone going crazy fir them. I'm contemplating just letting him build immunity from nursing rather than get his at a clinic? I don't know?

Where I am second guessing myself is using the emh. I really hope that my theory of it being okay in the slower time will be alright. We really need to be able to utilize them for some naps.

this next question will prove i'm a newby...

can you use fastpasses during EMH?

Hehe, I'm not sure! I have never had to use one. We always get right on or wait 10min or so. Hopefully that will be the case while you are there.

Don't worry! I didn't have a binder either, just a notebook. Then as I told you before I forgot it :lmao: You will be fine, take a deep breathe and relax! You are going to have an amazing time!

Sorry about the flu shot. I am pretty sure we had the swine flu in our house. It was more like the regular flu and I watched my kids really close and they were fine. I am wondering if it is more hype then anything else. But that is just my opinion.
Just make sure you have your dining reservations and all else will be good.
If you need anything I'm here!

so for the most part do you utilize the EMH in the off/regular seasons?

i looked at my crowd calendar again and i think that a couple of dates actually dropped. we are now showing:
arrival day 4
MK normal 6
MK early EMH / party 4
AK late EMH 6
off day 4
DHS late EMH 4
MK late EMH 7
EP early EHM 5
departure day no idea what park if any 6

so right now the worst day of any is the MK late EMH, and we will nap that day so hopefully it will be okay!

i've been so excited about the new princess stuff in FL- but today it got me a bit sad. to see any mickey on disney, you have to be up at the crack of dawn for the whopping thirty minutes. and then they are going to take mickey's house too. will my grandkids even know who mickey is or will they think disney is all about princesses and pirates?

i have myself totally confused now for the boardwalk part
please someone suggest the best transportation for this route:
from SSR to Boardwalk, mid afternoon on a saturday
then from boardwalk to dtd, early evening on a saturday

We have used our EMH during off season. Which will be the time you are here I believe. I was at DTD today and yesterday and the crowds didn't seem too bad.
As far as your second question....I hope there is someone out there who knows more then me on that. I do know you can take a bus from the Boardwalk to DTD. Going to Boardwalk from SSR you have a couple options.
1. Take a bus to a park then take a bus to the Boardwalk.
2. Take a bus to HS, ride a boat or walk to Boardwalk(there is a nice path that leads to the Boardwalk).
If it were me I would take a bus to HS then walk to Boardwalk, that would probably be the fastest. If I were tired I would just hop on a boat.
Hope this helps. Or have I confused you more?

Did you say you have NEVER eaten a TS at WDW???? If you haven't boy are you in for a treat!!!

Nevermind about the TS, that was someone else's PTR I was reading. I guess it's time to go to bed, I must be getting tired :lmao:
I believe I did get the transportation right though....

okay. I was thinking that about the bus for boardwalk but I wasn't sure whether that or epcot wad a better option. Thanks! And I don't remember saying ive never eaten ts at Disney (that surely doesn't mean I didn't. Ha!) but come to think of it- I think I went to chef Mickey's in the 80's maybe? If there was anything else I don't remember it.

Subbing, and reminding myself that I was on page 4 of your PTR before calling it a night

Didn't get much Disney done this weekend- in fact i think the only thing Disney i did was buy some blister bandaids. the whole reason i went was to make dog tags with our phone numbers on them, and I FORGOT! stinks cause walmart is my least favorite place in the world and now i have to go back:mad:
instead i spent time with my Dh's side of the family all weekend. My SIl and dniece are in town from germany- first time we have seen them in 1.5 years and probably won't see them again for another 2 years. Had a blast with them but someone there defintely tested my patience :rolleyes1

here's the 4 cousin's together:

mine are the 2 on the right, if you couldn't tell. the super cute blondie is my niece from germany. she's the one who will be a big sister next year.

and just the girls

and here's one of my faves from this weekend:

this is maya's cousin A- they are about 6 months apart and completely opposite! A is a little bit shy, perfectly behaved, and quite clean. Maya has never met a stranger and defintely has her moments of bad behavior. but they really complement each other. A brings out Maya's more reserved side, Maya brings out A-s outgoing side. they only get to see each other every couple of months or so- she lives an hour away.

So I've decided... I"m going to stick with my plan to utilize the EMH on most park days. But just in case, I'm working on touring plans. If it is really busy, i'll have something to fall back on. And if not, i'll just use it as a reference for which rides to run to at opening.

My thoughts on Epcot- FP soarin and ride test track

my choice for animal kingdom - fp kali so i don't have to get wet until late in the day. the only thing i'm not crazy about is that the touring plan i have it based off of never gets any fp for everest. it suggests riding everest around dinner time, but with no fp. will this be a crazy line?

still have to work on dhs and mk

I think you'll be fine doing morning EMHs. Hit all the rides that you think will have longer lines later in the day first. Then in the afternoon you could take a break then go back to the park in the late afternoon.

Last week DW and I used the single rider line for EE. It was only a 5 minute wait and I even went twice and got the front once!!! (shhhhh don't tell anyone!) LOL

It looks like you had a fun weekend. And how cool is it to have cousins around to play with?! I love the picture of them coloring. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that we remember. :)

a few random questions-
if you guys dont know i'll take them to the board, but i'm not having luck finding them with the search feature...

1) how long is Block Party Bash?
2) can you use the FP you've accumulated during the day during Late EMH?
3) best area for a quick exit after Lights, Motor, Action show

enough for now- i'll have more soon
Thanks!!

you are so right! i have great memories of hanging out with my cousins but we lived 12 hours from most of them. it was never the same when visiting my grandparents once we all got older and life interrupted our playtime. i'm grateful they get to play more then once a year.

We should never allow life to interrupt play time, that's why we go to WDW :lmao:
1.I'm not sure how long the Block party blast is. If you just want to watch it as a parade(this is what we do) a good spot is over by ST. It just goes by without stopping. We have enjoyed doing it this way, especially in the heat.
2.I have never had a problem using my fp anytime after I collect them. Hopefully you will not need them during EMH. Make sure if you are not going to use them right away to look at the time on the bottom to see when your next available time is to get a new fp. Some people think you have to wait until the fp is over and sometimes that isn't true.
3. Ok this is our rule of thumb for exiting after shows like this. We wait. Yep that's it, we just sit a few min. and wait til most of the crowds are gone. Then we get up and leave without fighting the crowds. We do almost everytime we go to a show. It just doesn't make sense to fight our way out when we can just sit. We talk about the show. A couple times we waited for the crowds at the Indiana Stunt show and we actually got to meet the actors. It was a highlight of our trip.
Hope that helps!

Again on you DHS day make sure you get a TS fp right away. Send someone ahead who can walk faster.
