Shortly after 9 this morning we pulled FP for Space valid at 1100. At 1107 we pulled FP for Star Tours and immediately headed to Space. The FP queue stretched almost outside. In fact there was a CM checking that everyone had a FP because many thought it was the standby line. The line continued past the scanners, up the ramp, and through a twisting switch back before getting to the second scanners. We boarded the ride at 1131. So our wait was over 20 minutes. My daughter kept asking if it was really the FP line. I told her it was as the other line was 90 minutes. But I've never seen a FP line that long before. The park was busy today, but I think it may have been in part because the ride was down for a short while. I'm also wondering if some previous speculation that they are giving out more FP is correct. The regular standby queue wasn't very long. But of course they favor the FP side so their wait was predicted long.

We've been in a FP line for at least 20 minutes before. Especially for Soarin', RSR, and Indy. While I don't personally find 20 minutes unusual, I wonder if it's just part of the back-up of the new system.

I've waited that long in the FP line for Space and RSR on occasion. It's usually closer to 15 minutes (for Space), but during the HyperSpace overlay, 20+ minutes wasn't all that uncommon for me.

I guess I've waited that long for Soarin'. Soarin' is always a super long wait!

I'd not seen a queue like this for Space before. It was crazy. But we don't usually visit in July either.

I had a really long wait for Indiana Jones in the fast pass line in June. The line went out to Tarzan's Treehouse. Someone in line said it was long because the ride was down for a while and all the people who had fast passes during the down time were now in the line during our return time.

At least they used to stop distributing new FPs while the ride is down, so at some point it caught back up. But my understanding is they now continue to distribute. So that will make lines longer, especially on rides like Indy that are known to go down a lot.

I've never seen a FP line that long for Space Mt. For Indy and RSR, yes. But that's pretty common. What's uncommon is that MxPx seems to be causing FP lines to be long wherever you go. Not good. Guess I'll find out next week.

If the FP line is long it can be two things...

- Guests not scanning their tickets correctly
- Attraction was down earlier and you went to the attraction during a time when those people came back to use their FPs

We did Space yesterday morning - had a FP return time of 9:55-10:55, but when we went over at 10, it was "temporarily closed" (and yes, they were still distributing FPs). Came back around 10:30 or 40 and it was reopened with a 30 minute standby wait posted and a FP return line all the way down the "hill," like OP mentioned. They also had CMs monitoring that everyone in it had a FP and had tickets out.

That first checkpoint only took about 5 minutes in spite of the huge line (I timed it), and then there was no wait for the second checkpoint. Inside, we were backed up several minutes outside of the final room, but that moved quickly. I'd guess it was about 15 minutes total? My daughter is obsessed with SM so we've done it a lot lately with similar waits for FP return.
