I know under 3 doesn't get the dining plan, but can they really just eat for free off someone else's plate? Do any of the restaurants give you a hard time? Also, if you don't have the dining plan can kids under 3 still eat free at TS restaurants if it's off my plate?

Kids under 3 eat free at buffets and then they can also eat off your plate at the TS meals, regardless of DDP. My daughter was a little over 2 when we went in January and never had any trouble. When we ate at a non-buffet TS, I sometimes even brought her food - she is very picky and at that time only at fruit. This time in August, right before she turns 3, I will still probably bring a little of her food to the TS meals (she eats like a fly - but I would be estatic to actually buy her a meal if she ate...maybe there is hope...) . She may eat a hotdog or a couple chicken nuggets.

FYI - at Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner they actually brought her a little plate of pasta and a ice cream w/ chocolate crown on top for free. I thought that was neat.

My son is 2, we've never had any issues with the Dining Plan. We've gone several times since he's been born. We tend to try and go to several buffet meals during the trips, and then everyone is happy. CMs have always been nice, brought him drinks for no additional charge as well. Have fun!

Yes, buffets/family style were free.

At Akershus, my two boys (ages almost 3 and 13 months) were allowed to order a meal and we weren't charged. That really surprised me, and I asked the waitress twice and she kept saying that was the case (and it was). At WCC, my boys ate some of my DH's skillet.

There shouldn't be any reason for any restaurant to give you a hard time as it is the policy of WDW that children under 3 may always share at all meals, including free food for them at buffets and all you can eat/family style.

We ate 7 all-you-can-eat TS meals on our trip last summer and no one ever questioned my little guy eating off the buffet or family-style platters. He was 14 months old when we went. He ate more than my older one did at those character dinners...the older one of course was more interested in the characters than in the food! Minnie Mouse actually fed him some mac and cheese at LTT back when they still had characters there at dinner...and yes, I got it all on video! Priceless! He was, however, very interested in those Mickey waffles at the 2 character breakfasts we had!

I can't imagine anyone giving you a hard time at an a la carte TS either...the CMs were all so nice, plus it is the Disney policy that a child under 3 could share off an adult's plate. It says so in the dining brochure.
