We have booked to go to DW in September. I know under 3's are free, but I'm wondering how this is 'policed'? When we arrive he will be 2, so do I have to carry his passport around everwhere to prove his age? (I'd rather not to stop it getting wet\lost).

He'll turn 3 after the first week of our holiday so I'm happy to buy tickets for him, but are the rules quite relaxed so as he's only 3 by a week no one will really insist on him having a ticket to enter the parks?

Trying to figure out my options of buying tickets.

Advice much appreciated.

the rule is simple : no one ages at Disney's

So if the kid is 2 at check in, then he'll be 2yrs old until the end of your stay, even though his anniversary is during your stay

You only need tickets for 3yrs old if they are already 3 on the day of your arrival

So he won't need tickets this year :)

Unless your kid can be mistaken for a 4 or 5yrs old, noone will ever ask you for proof of age

Good info in last post. You buy tickets based on age of child on arrival date. :thumbsup2

We still have non-expiry tickets bought for DS when he was younger, now he is 17 Disney will turn these into adult tickets free of charge.

Perfect, thanks for the info. I guess the only thing is we have a villa so won't be checking in to the resort as such. More like arriving on a daily basis so just hoping no one questions why our kid has turned 3 and we still don't have tickets when we go and enter the various parks. If no one really monitors is it probably won't be an issue by the sound of it.

Although having said that we will have 14 day adult hopper tickets that get activated when he is 2 so we can prove it that way.

Thanks again for the information - so looking forward the trip.
