if we go back when we are hoping to our daughter will still be 2 years old - "free" according to the ddp and dddp info but still old enough to want to have something to eat.

how does this work? would whatever we order for her be free, does she have to eat off our plates or would we have to pay cash for what we order for her (and if this is the case that cost would or could add up to more then it would be just to pay for her ddp)

thanks.

Hi! I took my DD four times before she turned 3. She would always eat off our plates, but at buffets we could make her her own plate and it would be free. Anything your order for her you would pay for. You wouldn't do the DDP since you won't need a park ticket for her. I found that sharing my meals with her worked fine, but she wasn't a huge eater when she was younger.

If you are on the DDP that would work fine and you can always pay OOP for a kid's meal (they are reasonable) if she seems really hungry. I've done this with my DS 1!!!

Enjoy your trip!

We have taken our 2 year old GD several times this year and pay OOP for all of her meals. We don't do buffets and she is not interested in eating adult food. She wants her mac and cheese, grilled cheese, pizza, so we pay for her meals. If your child eats your food off of your plate, then it free, it you eat at buffets, she can eat from the buffet too, but if you order her a meal from a TS location (not buffet) you will be charged for it. Also if you order her a meal from CS, again be expected to pay for it too. There are alot of folks who feed their 2 year olds from their adult entrees, but our little one is not interested in the spices and sauces we have on our meals, she is also not interested in our appetizers (no nachos or shrimp for her), of course she would be interested in our deserts.

At buffets, she'd be free. You'd have to pay OOP for any kids' meals you order her at non-buffet table service and at counter service, but at a typical cost of $7.50 for a TS kids' meal and $4 for a CS kids' meal, it isn't likely to add up to the cost of adding her to the dining plan. Keep in mind that if you add her to the dining plan, she'll also need a child's park ticket.
