2 Weeks to go - Is it worth checking availability?

We are booked at SSR for the first week of October. Can't wait to go, but something keeps telling me to call on availability at other resorts. I know that BWV & BC will be booked due to the Food & Wine Fest, but just thought I might try to see.

Anyone think I have a shot. 5 days in 1 Bedroom? I may call Monday for the fun of it

Even though I know you will enjoy SSR. Thats one of the great things about DVC . They don't charge you for the call. It never hurts to ask.

I know if Cancels happen I think they would rather upgrade someone fromCRO to a selling DVC then to one thats not.

I'd sure give it a try and why wait till Monday - MS is opened on Saturday now so give a call in am.

I would try Saturday and then try every day before your trip. You will never know if you don't try and someone may have to cancel at the last min because sometimes things happen. Good luck! Here is sending you pixie dust. Please keep us informed as to what happens.

When I called yesterday, there were 1BR's available at WL for 9/28-10/1 (the only dates we were checking).

Honestly, you never know. CRO is showing availability at WL and BW with an AP discount; one of those rooms may be released back to DVC. Now if they would just release one of those studios....

Thanks everyone. I didnt read the posts until now, MS is probably closed at 1:00. We would love to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, so I still may try on Monday.

We are staying 9/30 (Sun) and leaving 10/5 (Fri). Dont get me wrong, we love SSR, but we do want to try to stay at all the DVC resorts. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge, but prior to joining DVC, so staying at VWL would be great.

I will call now and see if it can be done. I will keep you posted

Hi, Actually MS is OPEN 1-5pm on Saturdays! I know because last week I called at about noon and was given the hours for Saturday. Good Luck! Joan

Thanks everyone. I spoke with Eric at member services around 4:30 EST. I wanted a 1 bedroom, and VWL had 2 nights available, and BWV had 1 night (I think). BCV & AKV were booked, and OKW had a night or two free.

No big deal, we really wanted to try VWL. Eric did suggest to try again, he said that it was possible something could open up. We are hoping to do VWL next december to see it decorated for X-mas.

I will keep you all posted, I may try again early next week and see if there is anything. I love SSR - so it is no big deal, all I can think about is WDW in two weeks - who can complain about that?
