We're booked up for 2 weeks in Oct, have a DS who will be 27 months when we go.

We want to do all 4 disney parks, the 1 waterpark (the other ones closed) the 2 universals, Busch Gardens, seaworld and aquatica. We also want to spend a day at Daytona Beach.

I want to spend a day in each park at least....which makes 11 days of 'doing stuff all day' and leaves 1 'day off'. Been discussing this with the family and they have said its going to be very hard going, esp as we want to enjoy the nightime shows as well!!!!!! It will be hard on my DS but we'll be knackered too!! So I called virgin and for an extra week its £240 for the 3 of us!!! (just flights and car hire) so do you think I should do the 3rd week??

Im not sure, as 3 weeks is a long time, and im worried my DS will get homesick?! Or do you think im being silly!!! Would be nice to have a couple of days themeparking then a day off to chill by our pool or go shopping!!! lol

What would you do? Any advice!!! Thanks again, Janine xx

If you can afford easily then go for it :thumbsup2

The last time I went was in Jan 2008, were just a couple but we needed rest days every few days (we did on average of every 3 days), the days are so long if your planning on doing evening shows as well, we went when there was no humidity either - which you need to factor in!

I will say that I dont think there is much for young children at the the two universal parks they are much more geared to older children and teens so you might not spend as much time there.

Difficult for anyone to advise. We are all different. We go for 25 nights every August and would stay longer if we could, last year did 4 trips totalled 56 days and could eaily find enough to do with feeling homesick.
On the other hand Brother my Uncle and Brother have had enough after about 10 days.
One thing you said was Daytona, personally I wouldn't, we went last August for the day, car park near pier was empty, no-one there, shops closed, not nice ocean. For a beach trip I would advise the West coast, somewhere like Clearwater or St Petes.

This will be my 7th time going so I know how hard going it is!! This time ive got an addition (being my DS Toby!!!!) We're going with my dads family, they have 2 kids 1 will be 14 and the other 12. Its the first time for my dads wife and her 2 kids to disney which is why we wanna do EVERYTHIN!! I love disney and am sooo excited!! I may go for the 3rd week! Just worrying about my DS I think!!

Thanks for that Daytona comment, i shall bring it up with my dad as he's the one who wants to do that beach.

I went to Clearwater last time (2003) and it was beautiful!!! Ive been to Daytona as a kid but cant remember much of it!! xx

Janine I would always recommend 3 over 2 ,yes you can fit eveything in in 2 but it only takes a couple of days of bad weather/rain to mess up the best laid plans. We tend to do 2 park days followed by either a pool/waterpark & sometimes a complete "splodgy" depending on how we all feel.
I'd be surprised if DS became homesick, after all your with him, plus unless your super rich & have a swimming pool in your back garden....
Although it is only £240 for that extra week remember to factor in the extra food costs & spending money into the equation. Finally 3 weeks will also affect your passes-you will either need a 21 day Ultimate or A non-expiry MYW pass as all the others expire 14 days from first use!
SD:thumbsup2

I wouldn't hesitate to do 3 weeks if I could afford it and get the time off work (my bf has managed to get 3 weeks off this year because he's done them a lot of favours with overtime, in his department they're generally not allowed longer than 2 weeks at a time off so this may be our only 3 week trip for a while) I'm sure your DS will be fine, I think kids adapt more easily than adults in many situations :)

we have only done three weeks once and found that it was much more relaxed .

I've done both 2 weeks and 3 weeks and would love to be able to do 3 weeks again .. it was so much more relaxing plus we managed to do absolutely everything hahaha

Im planning on 3 weeks if my Dad agrees otherwise he and my mum can go home early lol.

We went for 2 weeks twice and enjoyed it but felt it was rushed. We now go for 3 weeks and it is much easier to plan your trip.
We normally spend 1st week in Disney, 2nd week we hire a car, go to universal, seaworld, busch gardens etc. 3rd week again in disney.

3 weeks gives you plenty of time to relax with days at the hotel pool too.

For me, I would never go back to 2 weeks.

Enjoy your trip

I love to go for 3 weeks - with Virgin you can always do 17 nights or so if you don't fancy the full 3 weeks :) We did 20 nights last time as to gly home a day later was over £200 EXTRA each.

Thank you!!

We've exteneded out stay from 14 to 20 nights and GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!

It was only an additional £116 in TOTAL for us all (thats 4 adults & 3 children!!) apparently when my step mum called to book she spoke to someone different and they said that the previous operator gave her the wrong quote. He charged us car hire for the 3rd week but apparently its free if your in the fvc and your already paying for 2 weks ch!!!

WAHOOO!!!!!!!!

How FAB is that!!

Thanks for all your advs guys! xx

Sounds fantastic! As someone whose work commitments only allow a week at at time I'd do anything for a two week stay, but a three week stay would be nirvana.

You'll have a wonderful time.
