2 week trial for buy 1-get 1 coupons at DHS

Our Lines users report that guests entering Disney’s Hollywood Studios since yesterday have been handed a Buy-One-Get-One-Free coupon, good for entrees at the ABC Commissary, Backlot Express and Studios Catering Co. before 11:30 am and between 3 and 4 pm each day. We’re told this is a two-week test, so it should run through April 16.

I remember reading about this somewhere, not sure if here on the DIS, or on Allears, but it was at MK. It was for certain CS restaurants during the same hrs you mentioned. But I'm pretty sure that the end date wasn't any later than April 11th. My thought on it was that it was being done for the Easter crowd. It would encourage people to use the CS restaurants at times that wouldn't be as busy, thus reducing the crunch at lunch & dinner times.

Since it wasn't for a time frame in which I would be there, I didn't write anything down on it. I'm sure someone else will have the details on this.

Not sure even that's good enough to persuade me to eat at the Studios counter service places, especially the ghastly ABC Commissary. Backlot Express is decent. And what's with those times? I think this is an act of desperation.

It may not be for you but we're often hungry at 11:00 and would wait until between 3 and 4 to eat if it only cost half the amount of money. We're only two people but a family of four or even more than that could save quite a bit of money. And do you really think Disney is going to hand out 2-for-1 coupons for their most popular dining times? That's just bad business all around.

They have no choice but to give out coupons since pretty much most food at DHS is horrible (we do ok with Mama Melrose and 50's, once in awhile).

I agree with other posters. We never eat CS at the Studios. The food is blech!!! We usually will go to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club on our DHS day.

But, I might be tempted by a BOGOF offer. I'd have to check out the menus of the places listed because I thought I read somewhere that the menus are changing at the DHS CS places.
