Hi. We called yda to find out about some availability on the Magic for 7 days, the gal checked for us & said that we could use our pts for the 14 day cruise coming back from CA end of Aug. We were surprised about the # of pts that were requuired, seemed low to us. Cat 11 is only available according to this lady. She did seemed a bit confused. I didnt think that we could use our DVC pts. for this cruise. Has anyone here booked using their pts? Thanks Val S.

If it isn't too nosy...how many points did she quote you ? And for how many people ? We are thinking of buying into DVC but I've heard that using points for a cruise isn't a good idea...have been trying to find a thread which states points paid for a Magic cruise in off season in a cat 10 up to a cat 6 room.

Normally, it is best to rent/transfer your dvc points at $10.00/point to a renter or another dvc member to get onto a cruise. For example, Suppose it takes 300 points to get a family of 4 onto a cruise. Sell the points at $10.00/point and you get $3,000 which would pay for your entire cruise.
