Dear Marla,
Time flys so I believe it was 18 months ago when I went to Barnes &
Nobles feeling frustrated, overwhelmed and helpless. I turned to a gal
sitting reading a book and asked, "Do you know of a good book on
organizing?" She got a glowing smile on her face and said, "I'm just
the person you want to talk to!"
At that point she felt like an angel. She went and got me the book,
'Sink Reflections' and said, "She's even got a website." We sat and
talked for awhile and feeling hopefully excited I went quickly home to
start reading this highly praised book. I read the book and proceded
to follow the directions on making a Control Journal. At first I got
stuck with the creating process as I love to create. I also got stuck
with perfectionism. I thought in the beginning I didn't need to join
your website, but one day I thought I'll just take a peek at what
she's got.
I saw the word FREE and decided Hey, What the heck. At first all the
emails were annoying but then I realized that I needed those
reminders. I got a lot out of the testimonials. It showed me I was not
alone. Well, I was FLYING HIGH and got cocky. My FlyLady System worked
and I was finding the time to do other things and actually started
living and enjoying my life.
Little by little I quit doing one thing after another until I was
almost back to where I started. It hit me. IT works ONLY IF I work it.
IT can be FlyLady System, my weight loss program, my 12 steps, the
teachings of Jesus. But if I don't work it, it's not going to work. I
love what it says in my 12 steps - PROCRASTINATION is just SLOTH with
more syllybles. I am the greatest procrastinator.
Since I started on my FlyLady Journey. I have made a lot of new
friends and found new hobbies. Little by little I was just 'talking
the talk' and not WALKING THE WALK. I realized I can lose it ALL by
not working IT. Marla, what I lose the most is my peace & joy. I can't
afford to lose that because then I lose my love and myself.
I am so glad you're having trouble with unsubscribing. I need you
whether I want you or not. God is like that. He's always there. He
won't interfer with my plans, but He feels sad and waits for me to
return to let Him know that my way doesn't work and I'm ready to do it
His way. GOD BLESS YOU MARLA SO VERY MUCH FOR LETTING GOD WORK
THROUGH YOU. I THANK GOD FOR YOU AND YOUR GOD BREEZES.

Dear FlyLady,
I read the e-mail about your having trouble unsubscribing members and
the negative feedback you get from some people. When I first joined I
too was a little thrown about the number of e-mails and their
repetitive nature. But really your reminders are like items on a
checklist. I see the subject, read it and if it's under control I
delete it; like I'm marking it off my list.
So many of your reminders are so helpful. I always print out the
library check page and gather up materials that need to go back. I've
come to rely on that page! I do the same with many of your other
topics so I can do them later. I work full time so I have adapted
your suggestions to my schedule. I love the control journal!
