2 value rooms vs 1 deluxe

I was just going over some of the discount rates that are out now and dreaming about January rates. It appears that it may be possible to get a standard wing view at CR at nearly the same rate as 2 rooms at Pop.

If this happens, do you think 3 adults and 2 small children could be happy in one room at a deluxe?

I think it depends on the ages of your kids...if they're small (and not bathroom-hogs like many preteens/teens can be!) they might LOVE being on the monorail, walking to the MK and the Pool slide at the CR.

If your kids are preteen or older, I think you might be too cramped in one room and might prefer the extra bathroom and extra space from having 2 rooms at a value.

WE will be staying there next May...2 adults and 4 kids. I am not worried...I think there will enough room for us.

Keep in mind that since you'd have 3 adults in the room that you'd have to pay $25/night extra if you stay in one room at a deluxe.

We've had three adults and 2 boys (15 and 9) in a room at the Polynesian with just one small problem - one bathroom - you see 2 of the adults were Women :-)

The rooms at the Contemporary are the same size, are large enough for 5 and most importantly - the beds are large enough. Two of the beds at the Contemporary are going to be true Queen size beds - not doubles like the Value resorts use. The Single bed at the Contemporary is Twin Sized and may be big enough for your 3rd Adult - I say may because if the third person is taller than 5'6" or so it might be a bit cramped.

So other than the single bathroom the room is plenty big enough IMHO.

Have fun!

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 teens - 18, 15, 13 and we've always stayed in a deluxe, except for once. It works fine for us, but we were perfectly happy in the value too. It just depends on your preference.

Forgot to tell you about the cast

me - 40 :earseek: as of yesterday! :smooth:
DD - 39 (younger man..tee hee)
DGMA- 62
DD - 5
DD - 7

Tough call it seems

Happy 40th brithday!! Im right behind you, I'll be 40 in Jan. We have that same situation now. I can get 2 value rooms in Dec @ $49 each + tax which would be about $110 or I can get a CR gv room for $146 tax incl. There will be 6 of us in the room--baby is 2 and since they are all boys they just whip in and out of the bathroom.
I think we are leaning toward CR. I just really like the location and the larger beds.

I also think it depends on how you use your room. My kids don't nap anymore but my father does!:p

So we had to avoid the room while he was there, which wasn't too hard.

Will you DGMA go to bed early and be disturbed by the kids or vice versa? At the end of the evening falling to sleep exhausted was no problem for anyone, but how about when everyone wakes up. My dad has a compulsive need to watch the weather channel immediatly on waking up while my DD's whined about watching cartoons. Dad won.

It also helped to have extra adults in the room while I ran down for coffee and danishes or a paper for my father.

We don't spend allot of time in the room, so the convenience of walking to MK and the monorail system would far outway an extra bathroom.

My DD's are 6 and 5. I gave them a bath before bed to clear the space.

Does CR have balconies? I thought the extra space out there while I drank my coffee and avoided the battle of cartoons vs weather wonderful.

I would definately go for CR. We don't spend much time in the room at all:)
