Disney doesn't offer one of these does it?

3 meals a day would be too much for us, but it seems we have almost a breakfast and dinner booked for each day of our trip. I tried to roughly add it up, and I'm not sure we'd save much by doing the Deluxe DP as I just can't see us eating a CS meal each day too. We have some younger kids so have had to book early dinners, so I'd rather just have a snack in the afternoon and be hungry for a 4:30 or 5:00 dinner.

Any advice for the best way to handle? Just skip the DDP all together and pay OOP?

WDW doesn't offer any per day plans - all its dining plans are per night. 1 CS and 1 TS per night for the regular dining and 3 meal credits per night for the deluxe. You get all your credits at once and it doesn't matter which day you use them on. You could conceivably get 2 TS a day, every day, out of the deluxe if you book some 2 credit restaurants or dinner shows; then you don't have to use credits for CS.

I'm the same way. I love breakfast and dinner, but not lunch. This year we have a TIW card (gives us 20% of of most TS), and after deciding the places we wanted to eat, and looking at the menu, it was cheaper to go with the deluxe dining plan not taking in to account snacks. This way I know that I will get to try the desserts that I want without think that I'm too full to pay $7 for a dessert. One less think to worry about. We are going for 9 days and are doing three 2ts credit resturants and only have one credit left over for CS after we made our ADRs.

Disney does not have a 2 meal per day plan; however, the deluxe plan allows you to use CS and TS meals in whatever combination you wish, with three meals per night of your stay.

We have 2 TS meals scheduled per day on our upcoming trip, except for departure day when we have just 1. I cannot imagine doing three TS meals a day.

We're doing the deluxe.

I ran the numbers many times, and if you use about 2/3 of your meal credits on TS meals, you will come out at least even and probably ahead if you use the deluxe.

We also have some signatures tossed in there, but we are planning to do some CS lunches and snacks for breakfasts a few mornings. Not counting the snacks, we're probably going to "save" about $500 over what we'd pay OOP, so for us, it works.

I've used the DxDDP twice. When I used it last May I did a late breakfast/early lunch TS every day and then a 2 credit Signature Restaurant every night. I used maybe two snacks during the week and then went to DTD to use up all my snack credits the last day at Goofy's. I just wasn't hungry during the day. The DxDDP worked out great, since I don't particularly care of CS meals.

Last Sept I went with my diabetic mom who must eat three meals a day and my husband who loves to eat. We scheduled 3 TS meals a day. BIG MISTAKE! By the third or fourth day we were sick eating and realized we were spending all of our time running from ADR to ADR. It seemed like a good idea prior to our trip.:rolleyes1 We booked early breakfasts, lunches around noon, and dinners around 7:30pm. We round up canceling several of our ADRs, by the end of the week however. We didn't use a single snack credit and had to go to Goofy's our last day to use up 48 snack credits.

You'd think I'd learned my lesson, but I am seriously considering upgrading the free basic DDP to the DxDDP for my upcoming Sept/Oct trip. If I do, I will again be scheduling alot of 2 credit TS meals and early TS lunches.

I too wish Disney would offer a plan with 2 TS meals, 2 snacks, and a mug. It'd be perfect.

We also like two TS meals per day. As you've read now, there isn't a plan like that. We added up a good approximation of what our cost would be for cash at each restaurant (looking at menus and prices at AllEars.net.)

I compared cash vs. DDP vs. Deluxe DDP. In our case the cash price was less expensive than Deluxe DDP and we don't need the extra food (appetizers, mugs, and more snacks.)

Regular DDP plus cash for the extra TS meals was less expensive than paying cash for all. And we will use the CS credits included in the plan. So that's our best deal.

Look into the TIW card too if you have an AP. Depending on how long you'll be there and if you'll be back again within a year, it may be a good deal. It gives you 20% off at most places including alcohol. It costs $75 and is good for a year.
