We're considering two different tours for our upcoming trip to Seaworld - the Dolphin Spotlight tour and the VIP tour. Does anyone know which gives more time with/interaction with the dolphins? Does either one of them show you the nursery?

We'd love to feed the stingrays and sea lions as well, but you can do that without going on the tour. We can also get the Dine with Shamu buffet without getting the VIP tour so we're just trying to figure out what's best, what gives us the most time with the dolphins.

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I actually spent quite some time with one of the guys that does the VIP tour. He was definatly a lot of fun, and I'd spend 7hrs going through the park with him.

It's not a bad price considering all that you get, and what you would pay for those things seperately. A tray of fish is 7$ (so times 3 is 21$ of fish), and dine with shamu is 45$ per person. And for a little bit extra, you get behind the scenes and in depth stuff on each area. Plus front of the line access for all the rides, quick queue is 14$). So for not very much more you get some one cool to hang out with.

I don't know everything on the dolphin spotlight tour. And I've never done either one of them. This is just what I learned from him today.

We don't do the rides though, so getting front of the line for that doesn't matter. I would actually pay more to do all the things we want to do individually if the Dolphin Spotlight Tour has more time/interaction with the dolphins.

I read someone else's response on there that on the Dolphin Spotlight Tour they spent about 20 mins with the dolphins. I haven't been able to find how much time you get on the VIP tour. Also, we would like to see A'Lure... would we get a chance to see that show if we're on the 7 hour VIP tour? I checked the schedule for our day and there's only one showing.

During the VIP tour you don’t get to see the Alure show....

I haven’t done the dolphin spotlight tour yet, but I’d guess you spend more time with the dolphins during that tour and you can give them handsignals and stuff. I think this is pretty cool.

During the VIP tour you have reserved seating for the dolphin show, the sealion show, believe and dinner with shamu. It’s pretty cool not to have to go to the stadium 30 minutes in advance... ;)

Thank you both for your help. :)

About how much time do you spend with the dolphins on the VIP tour? Is it like just feed and go? Do you see the nursery at all on the VIP tour?

I only did the VIP tour where you get your photos with the animals taken during the day and there was no interaction with the dolphins! I don't know how much time you can spend with them during the other tour -- sorry! Dolphin Nurserey isn't included in both of the tours as far as I know. I had some awesome interactions with the dolphins during the normals feeding sessions! If you go there early in the morning the dolphins are very playful and love to get some rub downs! ;)

I have gotten such great trip planning info here!
Does anyone know what time the Dolphin Spotlight tours are? They list tour 1 and tour 2 on the website, but I can't find the times to plan the rest of the day. We would like to double our dolphin time by fedding them right away at opening (thanks for that advice:thumbsup2)

there are two tours each day, but the exact time will be given the day of your visit (or maybe you can phone them some days in advance). The times can sometimes change. It all depends on the dolphins and what the trainer have planned for the day and stuff like that. I remember that one of the tour times in November was at the same time as the first Believe show.
