Just returned from a quick trip to Universal/IOA and 2 suggestions for those going:
1. Investigate food options before you go. Most restaurants (other than food cart type places) were in-app orders only, though they seat you once you order. I missed the ability to get a view in the restaurants before we picked a place! Lines to get in can get long, so plan appropriately.
2. Bring anti-bacterial hand wipes. There's a person at every ride with hand sanitizer before you get on and, for most rides, when you get off. Your hands can get very sticky with layers of sanitizer. Kept some anti-bacterial wipes handy and solved the issue!

I returned home October 6 from a 10 night onsite stay.

Did a lot of the park eateries and city walk as a walk up.

I ordered food once inside the restaurant.
I never used their app and was given the paper menu when there.

Interesting. That did not happen for us at any restaurant.

You have to ask for a menu as they prefer all use the app to order food

if you use the app, you would not be aware paper menus were available.

How do you manage lockers for some of the rides? Do you spray your bag after it is in the locker? Also are they doing the refill cups?

I just got back after 12 night onsite stay. I don’t use lockers, but I did see the TM’s wiping the lockers out. My suggestion to those that are concerned about bags in the lockers is to bring a bag to put your backpack in while in the lockers.

Yes, they are doing the refill cups.

As noted above I just returned from a 12 night stay. I can only speak to my experience and it was a good one.

I was having issues with my iPhone so I could not scan the menu. All the restaurants I ate in gave me a paper menu without issue.

I did not have reservations. I went into the restaurant, was seated, given the menu, looked at the paper menu, ordered and payed my waiter/waitress when done.

I did not have issues at all.

The nice thing in addition to the TM’s putting hand sanitizer in your hand before each ride was the fact that the ride seats and lap bars were being sanitized in between riders. I stood back and watched this on many rides.

I had a small bottle of hand sanitizer that I continued to use all day.

I think Universal is doing a great job in providing Covid precautions at the parks and resorts.

We have always used the lockers. Now with Covid I am wondering about how to go to the park without a bag. How do you securely carry phone, hand sanitizer, room keys etc on the rides?

For reference, here is the locker area for The Mummy at 3:35. Posted wait is 70 minutes, we waited maybe 10 in the EP line.

Gringotts looked the same earlier this morning.
MIB was the most ‘crowded’ so far, but there was still only 1 group per locker bank.

We could just be hitting things lucky, but it’s been the best locker experience we’ve had here.

We haven’t seen any rides being cleaned. Not saying it doesn’t happen, we just haven’t seen it.

Social distancing is hit or miss. To be fair, I sometimes forget myself, and creep up too close to the group in front of me.

The only locker mess is at the Hulk. The line for the lockers was longer than the eP line for the ride. I just sat it out this trip and held everyone’s stuff.

We rode Hulk yesterday around 11:30 or so. There were 3 people waiting in front of me when I dropped off the bag. Might have taken 2 minutes.

When I went to retrieve the bag, the drop off line was maybe 8-10 people deep and no one was picking up.

When I got to the TM I told him my locker bank and he sent me over there wiabout 10 seconds.

We have been lucky at every locker so far, I guess.

I know eventually it will go back to the old thunderdome way, but I hope they keep it this way (where attendants pulse you in). We’ve found it much more pleasant. (Weekends and holidays might be a different story;) )
