2 rooms Pop Cent. OR 1 room WL

Need some help trying to decide where to stay.

We currently have a reservation at WL for 13 nights during the holidays.
And a reservation at Pop Century.

We have always wanted to stay at WL and think that being there during the holidays would be great. But we are concerned about having a seperate bedroom for our little ones to easily fall asleep in at night. At the time of our trip DS will be 17 months old and he cannot fall asleep with people in the same room as him. So we are thinking that maybe 2 guranteed connecting rooms at Pop Century would alleviate this problem. The kids can sleep in one room with us in the other. And of course that would give us 2 bathrooms, which would be great.

And I'm concerned about transportation issues that some DISers have come across at WL. And with us being there during the holidays I'm guessing that transportation will not be running any better.

And the idea of staying at a brand new (and clean) resort sounds kinda of nice as well. And they will have a large food court at PC too.


My DH and I are so torn we have no clue what to do.

Can any one offer any advise??

Why don't you split your stay? Have the best of both worlds!

If you don't want to split, I think it's really a personal choice. You're comparing a delux and a value resort.

Since you'll be there during the holidays, I think you should stay at WL because it will be beautiful there at that time. Maybe you could think of something to get your little one to sleep at night with all of you in the room!

We are splitting an 11 night trip with 5 at AK Savannah(one room for budget), and 6 at AS music (two rooms for privacy) in Oct/Nov. I would think splitting a 13 day stay would be perfect. My kids were always good sleepers so we really didn't have those problems. But even many kids who have sleep problems just collapse after a day at Disney. Also don't forget the balcony, if it is warm enough you can escape out there while the little ones go off to sleep. I think I would take the busier holiday time at WL in case the parks are to busy to enjoy, you have the resort activities and such, I would use the PC during the time when the crowds would be lower and go more gung ho at the parks. This of course is assuming this doesn't mess up any discounts you have. Enjoy!

It's hard to really compare the two resorts. Wilderness Lodge is a gorgeous resort, with Deluxe level amenities. Pop Century will not have all the amenities that WL has, but will still be a great place to stay.

As for Transportation at WL... you're bound to hear things on either side, but overall, WL does have decent transportation. There have been just as many posts from folks with good experiences... they just don't get as much attention.

We've thought about splitting our stay between the two resorts.
But think that it would be quite an undertaking packing up and moving to another resort. Especially with bringing along our small pre-lit Christmas tree for the holidays.

And the cost difference between the two resorts isn't much.
We got a AP rate on WL woods view for $1821 for the 13 nights.
And got a DC rate on Pop Century 2 rooms for $1793.

We are not trying to compare the two resorts. We obviously know the difference between the two. But we are just unsure which would be more convenient space wise and if that out rules aesthetics.

In regards to staying at WL, I have thought that the baby would be able to go to sleep better if I could have DH (or myself) take DD 6yrs old out of the room to the arcade, or search for hidden Mickey's or some other adventure like that until the little guy goes to sleep.

And as for transportation, we are driving down this trip so we will have our own van to get us around if the holiday crowds crowd up the buses.

Since you'll have a car, you'll be free to explore all the resorts to check out thier decorations. Perhaps an idea would be to choose Pop Century (I'm a bit biased...), and then explore all the resorts at your leisure.
