2 resorts at the same time?

I have a complex question. My husband's company is hosting a conference over at Yacht and Beach. We (family) decided to tag along and add on extra days before and after the conference, but we are staying at AKL. He will be staying with us for 2 nights, then going over to Yacht and Beach for 4 nights in his own room on the company, and then coming back to join us for 2 nights.

How do you suppose I figure out magic bands/hotel reservations?

Wouldn't you just book the 4 of you at your location AKL for the entire time ..... and then he would book the YC/BC in his name with his company charge? He would have two MB, would use whichever he needs to open that hotel room.

FP+ would be tied to his tickets if that is a concern.

Okay, so I should call and put his name on our reservation also then (right now he's not, he's with his own company). I have tickets for him that are currently on (and we were able to book FP for him) even though he's not in our room reservation at present, which we thought was weird, but it worked anyhow.

You can always book your friends and family for 60 day FP+ even if they aren't staying with you.

The only thing then you really need for him is to get a MB for your room so you can wait until check in, tell them he will be staying with you some of the nights and will need a MB. They will give it to you at check in.

If you aren't doing a Dining Plan with him, then you really have no benefit to adding him early.

Do you have a package or a room-only booked? If it's room-only, I would just add him now especially if you are flying in and are planning on using Magical Express. If it's a package with tickets and/or dining, I would add him at check-in as HopperFan suggested so you don't have to purchase any extra package components that you don't need.

Does his conference not offer a special Yacht Club before and after conference rate? When wife had a conference at Yacht in February, we were able to stay at Yacht before and after the conference for something like 60% off rack rate.

I'm a bit confused why you don't all stay at YC for free the 4 nights of his conference. Do AK all together before and after the conference. Disney will move your luggage for you.

Do you have a package or a room-only booked? If it's room-only, I would just add him now especially if you are flying in and are planning on using Magical Express. If it's a package with tickets and/or dining, I would add him at check-in as HopperFan suggested so you don't have to purchase any extra package components that you don't need.

So right now, I have purchased tickets for him, and we have a room booked and tickets for us. We aren't doing dining. I guess he really just needs the MB for the room, and since we would be together, I suppose he doesn't really need one anyhow, but it would be convenient. Yes, we do have that rate. We actually are able to book at AKL because they are saving the rooms at YC for the conference attendees and encouraging families to stay at AKL as overflow. We are getting the discount for the AKL room.

Because he is up really early and back really late, we don't want him having to tiptoe around the sleeping kids or risk waking us up, plus often he is doing some work in the room at night. It's ideal for him to do his conference stuff on his own without getting our OUR way of vacationing We will definitely visit him at YC though.

If you are booked at a convention rate at AKL, you should be able to simply add him to the room now. Even if you purchased tickets with that room. Convention reservations don't work like MYW packages and guests do not have to have the same ticket type when adding them to rooms. I would just add him now.
