Does the reservation system allow you to have 2 different resorts booked for the same dates or at least some overlapping dates?

I was able to book 6 nights at BRV (Jan 19th-25th) but it's not the exact dates we were hoping for. They could possibly work for us but we'll need to wait until Southwest releases January flights at the end of this month.

I'm also wanting to book SSR for some of those same dates as a backup in case the flights aren't great for the BRV dates. The original plan was to book January 20th-27th and then choose 5 nights somewhere in that window depending upon nonstop flight options.

My ideal dates would be January 21st-26th so that our 4 park days would avoid the weekends. But sadly, the 25th/26th aren't available at BRV. Though we might be willing to deal with weekends....if we can manage good flights on the 19th or 20th.

So basically I'm worried if I book SSR tomorrow for 20th-27th...will the system allow that? Will it cancel my BRV reservation??

Yes, you can do that. But need to have the points available to hold both reservations simultaneously. Also, if you borrow any points from a future Use Year as part of this transaction, they cannot be un-borrowed. Unless part of your overall plan, do NOT borrow any points for these reservations.

Phew! Thanks everyone! I'll plan to book SSR tomorrow then.

Then we just need to wait on flights to see if there are ones that will work for us.

If flights are decent for those BRV dates.....how much worse are the parks on a weekend than a weekday in late January? We haven't been since 2012 so I have no clue what it's like now. We will hopefully have DAS like we do at Disneyland so I'm hoping that will help if we end up there on a weekend. Thinking it might be worth it in order to stay at our #1 resort pick.

Weekends will always be more crowded, regardless of time of hear. Impossible to quantify. Just have a good plan, and have a good time!

They’re a little more crowded, especially Epcot if the Festival of the Arts is going on, but not terribly. We just avoid Epcot on Friday evening and all day Saturday.

And I just saw your post about booking BRV for the week - hooray! I’m looking forward to a trip report!

When does the festival of the arts take place?

We want to start our visit with Epcot first day since it's our absolute favorite, but if we fly out on a Friday, that makes our first day a Saturday. So we may have to rethink our plan. I might start some sort of pre-trip report to just talk out all of my planning stuff. Sometimes just typing things out helps me process it all.

It’s a relatively new festival and has been getting longer. This year it started January 13. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...tional-festival-of-the-arts-presented-by-att/

ANOTHER QUESTION......

So we currently have January 19th-25th booked at BRV.
And January 21st-27th at SSR as back up.

Like I said, a lot depends on flight times when they are released. My ideal trip would be to arrive on Sunday 21st and head home on the 26th.

So I'd love to have the night of January 25th booked at BRV as well but I don't really want to log in at exactly 7am (my time) each morning to try to add it.

Should I put in a waitlist request for that one night? If so, do I just do that like it's a separate reservation all together?

If I'm looking at things correctly, you should be able to modify your BRV reservation now to add the 25th. We're 7 months out from January 22. You can currently book anything that includes 1/22 + 6 additional nights. Pending villa availability and points, of course.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that there are no studios available for the 25th.

Assuming it's not a Home resort, the only real option is to log in 6/25 and create a waitlist request for the one night. If it is filled, you can then contact DVC to merge the two reservations.

Many people will also log-in periodically and check to see if availability appears.

I do double book but l was warned by CS to take myself off the other reservations or my MB may not work at my desired room. So 7 days prior I take my name off the rooms where I am not going to stay.

Just be aware that lately week end see shorter lines than weekdays. It seems Disney has been charging more for hotels and park tickets for weekends to the point that a lot of people are now booking weekdays to save. Also, months with only the AP valid for weekdays available to purchase may contribute to that.

of course it's impossible to predict if this trend will continue until January.

Thanks. I'll check out the link.

I noticed this was similar on our last 2 trips to Disneyland too. Friday/Saturday seemed better than Sunday/Monday.
