2 Quick Questions

I've made my ADR for CRT, and am about to make a couple more for less busy (hopefully) restaurants. I have 2 quick questions:

1. I had to pay for CRT in advance, in full. Is CRT the only restaurant that's true for? In some restaurants you order off the menu, so I don't know how that would work.

2. Will WDW send me a confirmation in the mail for CRT (and others, if/when I make them)?

Hoop Dee Doo Revue, and Spirit of Aloha require you to pay up front too. You also have to pay for any tours in full before hand. I don't remember if any other's make you pay in full. I think that is it. I haven't been to CRT, but others are dinner shows. They serve the same food to everyone, unless you have a dietary restriction. I haven't made my own ADR's in awhile, but they didn't send the confirmation numbers by mail. I had to write them down. Maybe someone else can jump in to say if this is still the case. You can always call back to get your confirmation numbers, just give them your dining information. I know when we booked the Hoop Dee Doo, we were to pick up our tickets the day of the show. Sorry, not sure how CRT works.

I booked our ADR for CRT about 5 weeks ago and I've not been sent any further information. I was told on the phone to write all the numbers down and keep them somewhere safe.

CRT was the only one I paid in full. I booked us a Fantasmic package at H&V and only had to place a guarentee on this booking. All my others, I just made a reservation time, no payment and no guarentee.

deficiencies in the Disney trip planning experience is the lack of a verifiable ADR system. People get up early 180 days in advance to make them and fret about whether they are right and there is no way to verify in advance other than call again. Having a way to verify (I'm not going as far as suggesting an automated reservation system) would improve the experience and likely save Disney labor cost. I call to verify my ADRs prior to a trip while I look on line for resort reservations.

Now that I'm done with that; As mentioned above, some of the dinner shows require advanced payment. You're right that menu items may differ substantially and that prevents pre-payment at most locations. You did not mention which meal you are having at CRT but at lunch there is a selection of entrees. The last two years there has been pork roast, salmon, Major Domo Pie, a pasta dish and something else. The appetizer, a salad, meat and cheese and dessert, a buckle blueberry or chocolate, are standard.

CRT, Hoop Dee Doo, and Luau require payment in full. I believe that other Signature Restaurants, CG for example, require a hold and will charge your credit card if you do not cancel 48 hours in advance.
By far, the majority of restaurants do not require anything.
You do not get a confirmation. You need to record the Confirmation # they give you on the telephone. We have NEVER had a problem with this system.

We also booked the h&v for the fantasmic package. they had us hold with a credit card. But I wish we never ate ther the food was very bad. I would rather stand in line for the hour to get seats for the show. The show was great

Do you have to pay in full even if you are on the dining plan?

information will be taken but not charged in advance. If you show up for the meal your DDP will debited for the meal and the CC ignored completely. If you do not show up your CC will be charged in full.
