Hi all

Any help on the following would be most helpful

1) Food on planes - are there any restrictions - the airline I am going with seem to think you can take what you want but one of their staff say you can't take any and all of them have said "I think you can take anything on".
Other people have said you can take anything as long as you buy airside ?
I was planning on making butties / taking crisps etc - can't be doing with that airline food - but didn't want it all confiscated , and we won't have anything else to eat if they don;t allow it on

Am I right in thinking you actually can't take anything food-wise INTO usa ?

Also , anyone know if you are allowed to take butties / other food on teh rteurn journey ?

2) Food in the parks

I know that all the parks check your bags and technically none of them allow food , but I have heard that they MAY turn a blind eye - really they are on the look out for security risks ?
Again looking at taking typical pack lunch type stuff , butties / crisps / chocolate / fruit / drink , but don't want to see it all wasted if we will be stopped from taking it in.
Do different parks apply the same criteria or are some stricter than others - including Busch/SW/US etc

Any help most appreciated
Thanks

I always take food on to the plane, just not drinks, and have never had a problem. We also take food and drinks (no glass bottles allowed, you will be made to drink them before they let you in, or throw them away)in to WDW, no problem either.
As for food entering the USA, you can as long as it is not meat, milk, and soft cheeses. We bring food in all the time, you just have to declare it, they will ask you what you have and that's it, we also bring food back in to the UK, never had a problem either, same thing though, no meat ect.

They may allow you to take sandwiches onboard but will not allow the ice packs to keep them cool.
If the sandwich had meat or similar it would need to be eaten within 2 hours to minimise the risk of food poisoning.
I sometimes buy a sandwich just prior to boarding and eat it soon after takeoff.

Here's a list of what you can take into the USA (taken from the US embassy site). We took a Christmas Cake with us in December and they were OK about that. As for drinks, we could buy them once through security and take them onboard with us. I don;t think that there would be a problem with sandwiches as long as you eat them before entering US customs as the dogs would sniff them out.
