Ok, so one of my old tickets has been demagnetized therefore wont be able to be read at the entrance...how do I get this replaced? Also, when I buy a new ticket in addition to my old one...can I get a refund on unused days or if I dont use it at all? I dont think I am going to need an additional ticket but I want to be safe since it is cheaper to purchase tickets online or at the disney store but if I dont use it I want to not miss out on any money without spending the extra for no expiration!

I'm assuming your old ticket has no exp option.... did it have ten days on it? If not, you can upgrade your existing ticket to ten days if I'm not mistaken?

Otherwise, I believe it wouldn't be worth it to use the unused days toward a new ticket because the big $$$ is on the front end of the ticket. I'd just use the days up on your existing ticket and then get a new ticket for however many days you need after that.

Yes my old ticket is a no expiration for a 7 day pass.

However, it is demagnetized so do I just take that to a guest service desk to get a new one to replace it? How does that work?

Also, I never got an answer...can I get a refund on a ticket I never used? i.e...if I bought it at the disney store before I left and dont use it...can I return it and get my money back?

A demagnitized ticket can be taken to Guest Services just outside the gates in every park. Be sure you have your ID with you.
I believe there is a place in DTD that can help also, anyone know where?

You can have the demagnetized ticket replaced at any Guest Relations location throoughout Walt Disney World (Theme parks, water parks & DTD). It can also be replaced at the Lobby Concierge desk at any Disney resort.

As far as the unused ticket, Disney does not refund ticket money since the tickets are good until first use at a minimum, even if it is twenty years from now. Wholly unused tickets are also giftable and transferable as well.

Magic Your Way tickets used more than 13 days ago cannot have days or features added (be upgraded).

Pre-2005 tickets cannot be upgraded.

At Guest Relations they will replace demagnetized tickets at no charge and will exchange your own partly used child pass for an adult pass with the same remaining admissions at no charge. You need at least one of the following to replace a worn ticket: (1) The codes and numbers on the back still legible, (2) A photocopy or hand copy of the codes and numbers on the back, (3) A cash register receipt identifying the ticket, or (4) the magnetic stripe still machine readable.

Nonmagnetic tickets will also be transferred to magnetic tickets (similar to putting "tickets" on room keys) but ask first if you want the old ticket back. Depending on the CM behind the desk you may have to choose between keeping the old ticket as a souvenir or using its value (still measured in days) for admission.

A demagnetized ticket, whether MYW or pre-MYW, can be replaced at any park (including water park) ticket window, Guest Relations location, or even at the gates themselves. Each of the parks has a location inside at the turnstiles so if your ticket is demagnetized the greeter will ask you to wait a minute and will take it to the person who handles this and you will get a new ticket immediately.

If you buy a MYW ticket the "clock" for expiration does not start until the ticket has gone through its first turnstile, so you can keep it for years and it will retain its value. Actually it may increase in value as ticket prices go up.

If you have unused pre-MYW tickets you can use the original Disney selling price of one ticket as a credit to the purchase price of any current ticket with a selling price equal to or higher than the value of the old ticket.

Note that if the ticket was purchased from a discounter/broker the value given is what Disney sold the ticket for to the discounter/broker and not what you paid for it.

If you have a partically used pre-MYW ticket it cannot be upgraded, but the remaining entitlements can be used. If the ticket has become demagetized, as long as the serial number string is readable a replacement ticket, with the same remaining entitlements, can be issued.

My demagnetized ticket was purchased by my mother so why would i need my id because I am not the original buyer? Plus..how would the finger print thing work? I just want to make sure I dont hurt myself in the end. And I want to do it the easiest way possible. Will I have ot redo my fingerprint again?

Thanks for all of your help guys!

The cost per day is almost always less if you use leftover theme park days only when you have accumulated enough of them to cover the entire vacation.

However I realize that your foreseeable vacation plans years into the future might not be convenient for doing this.
