I'm a Disney virgin and we're going with some friends next year - we each have a boy, that will be just shy of 3 and i have a girl that will be 15 months. We want to get in as much as possible in the 7 days there, but don't want to overdo it either.

We were thinking Universal and maybe Sea World in one day, are they close enough, would it be worth it??? I know Universal is a little bit more geared toward the older crowd, but the adults want in on that too.

Our main focus is Disney (Duh, most days here), Sea World and Universal (Only one day there) .. we also want a "down day" to lay low and maybe a beach day. So we have to work in what we want to do, including naps.

Any advice or tips?

That seems like it will be a bit much for one day. The kids and probably the adults will need naps early afternoon and that may mean heading back to the hotel.
Also, that would be one very expensive day.

WOW! That is an ambitious schedule! We started with a 4 day trip with DD and decided that 4 days is not enough. So we did 6 days this year...and decided that 6 is not enough. We are going for 8 next year. With 6 days, we still didn't have a "down" day. We hit a park every single day. With the ages of the kids you mentioned, you are really going to have to take it slow. Disney can be overwhelming for most kids (think sensory overload) and meltdowns WILL happen to the best of kids if you push it. I'm assuming that you'll have a car if you are planning to go offsite (especially to the beach since that is quite some distance from Disney). If you are planning to do a beach day, a down day, and a day at an offsite park, I would stick to 1 park. Admission to SeaWorld and Universal are $60+ for a one day pass. So for that one day, with only say 4-5 hours per park you are talking $120+ for each person in your travel party. NOT worth it IMO. Also, your schedule only then would allow 4 days on property at Disney. Again, not enough IMO. Your kids will primarily want to go to MK, which is easily a 2 day park. We spent 3 days there this past trip and DD would have loved a 4th!!! (You will not believe how many times these kids can ride the same ride over and over). Depending on the park crowds during your trip, you could also spend a LOT of time in line. I remember a trip to MK when I was younger during a busy week that we only got on 4 rides for the whole day because the lines were so horrendous. Okay, that's my advice...Happy Planning!:)

There is not that much for the little ones to do. Dr. Suessland is fun, and the Barney show was cute, but honestly the attractions that are geared for the little ones (your kids age) are few and far between. Not worth the trip at this age. I speak from experience - been there, done that when my son was under 3 - it just wasn't worth it.
I've never been to Sea World, so I can't comment on the specifics there.

The only thing I can tell you is that there is sooo much to do at Disney - if this is your first trip, relax and and enjoy everything that is there before you start running around Orlando. 7 days seems like a lot, but it goes so fast.

I love SeaWorld but I would say that I don't think it's worth the money you spend. It's mostly sitting around watching shows. I woud skip both Sea World and Universal (since your kids are so young) and just hang out at Disney.

I think your schedule might be a bit ambitious. I'd need a nap after Universal with two kids, so trying to do that plus Sea World might be a bit too much. My kids are about the same age as your kids and I'd almost recommend skipping Universal altogether and saving it for when they are older. Even though you are going for 7 days, you and your kids will probably find more than enough things to do at WDW for those days and then some! I can tell you breaks for toddlers is extremely important, so be sure to work in some nap time and pool time as well!

Last February was my family's first trip to WDW. DW and I have 3 DS who were 11, 9, and almost 2 at that time. We were only in Orlando for 3 full days - got in late Sunday night and were leaving on Thursday AM. DW wanted to have a beach day, too, but I didn't know if we could fit it in. I pre-purchased 3 day WDW park hoppers, P&P, and Universal tickets. We started the day bright and early at MK with a set plan and then left for MGM in the afternoon because it rained. It was dead at MGM so we walked the entire park and saw plenty of characters. We returned to MK, catching the end of Spectro and watching Illuminations. I pretty much pushed a strong pace all day. The next day, we went to bright early to Epcot, in order to make it to Soarin and Nemo first (Turtle Talk was out of commission during that time). After I did Test Track with the older DS's, I was DONE.:sad2: It was only noon. My legs were shot and I was exhausted from lack of sleep and waking up extra early (I'm not an early riser). After letting the boys play in Innoventions for 45 minutes, we left and went back to our hotel for some R&R. A quick nap and a dip in the cold pool revived me. I was able to get us reservation at Nine Dragons for later at 8PM, so it was back to Epcot and a very long walk (counter clockwise) so we could atleast say we walked through all of the nations...:rolleyes1

In the end, I welcomed some time at the beach (Cocoa). We were going to the P&Ppirate: later anyways so it made sense to sleep in a little and be more rested for a late night at MK.

Moral of story is to have a plan, but also don't over do it. Especially if you are a rookie like me....:thumbsup2 Enjoy as much of it as possible but also be willing to make changes. There's so much to do and 1 trip is not enough. Save some of it for another trip.

BTW, We never made it to AK, and I ended having to sell my Universal tickets on CL when I got home...:headache:
