How does the DAS when 2 people will need DAS? Is it 3 allowed time slots for our party and that is it for the day or is it 3 for one person and then 3 for other?

There are some rides that one wants to go on and some the other wants, they are not all the same.

I will assume you are going to WDW, which utilizes FP+. Every guest is allowed 3 FP+ which can be planned ahead or onsite. FP+ is available to everybody. Additional FP+ may be scheduled one at a time after the initial 3 have been used. If you are going to be at DL/DCA, those parks still use the old paper-FP system.

DAS allows the user plus up to 5 others in their party to get a "return time" issued and essentially spend the time elsewhere that they might have been in the standby line. Only 1 DAS return time may be valid at any given point of your day, but you may receive as many as you wish/are able throughout the day -- getting one after another. This is in addition to the 3 FP+ you may plan ahead, and additional FP+ available after those 3 are used.

If 2 people in your party have a DAS, each member of your party may still only have 1 DAS return time. If you have 4 members of your party and 2 have DAS, each DAS-holder will have his/her own return time and the remaining 2 guests in your party will also be connected via the MagicBand. DAS is now on the MagicBand (no paper card) which recognizes your whole party and will only allow any given guest to have 1 DAS return time attached.

Thank you lanejudy for the good explanation of the system. I did read the sticky before asking but still could not grasp the DAS. I believe you answered it.

DAS is now on the MagicBand (no paper card) which recognizes your whole party and will only allow any given guest to have 1 DAS return time attached.

If Grannie wants to get a DAS for Small World and Gramps wants Haunted mansion, then we can only pick one of their choices at a time. The DAS is connected to the entire party, even though there are 2 DAS users. So does it even matter that two people in the party need the DAS? Only one time can be secured.

If your party might split up -- Grannie can get a DAS return time to ride Small World with you while Gramps gets a DAS time for Haunted Mansion with another member of your party. DAS is individual, but the magicbands from the whole party will be connected to it. You can changed who rides with whom at each attraction, assuming you split. Just that Grannie and you can't have a DAS time for IASW and for Haunted Mansion at the same time; the system won't allow it.

if it is 12 o clock grannie want small world (wait time is 30 minutes) then mom and grand daughter can be added on to it and if gramps wants hinted mansion ( and grandma has small world at the time) then dad and grand son can be added on but mom and grand daughter can not be added on since they are with grandma

If your whole party is going to stay together and ride all of the rides together, then you only need one DAS. But if there is a chance that you'll want to split up, with one disabled person in one group, and the second in another group, then each should get their own DAS.

Grandma and Grandpa can each have separate wait times for different rides at the same time. But you (and others in the party) can't be attached to both of those wait times...you can choose to ride with Grandma or with Grandpa, but not both.

Thanks, I think I have a better understanding of the system now. First we get in the park at rope drop and do all that we can. Then we use FP+ reservations for rides in the later morning early afternoon, then when they are all gone, we are to use the DAS but one at a time or split up between the grands.

You do not have to use the fast passes first you can do a DAS then fast pass or the other way around and are you getting a DAS because of problems with standing or walking for a long time

Just to add, if their issues are stamina/mobility only, they most likely won't be issued a DAS; rather, they will be advised to rent a wheelchair or scooter.
