Hi, We are going on our first family trip in April. Unfortunately we only have 5 full days to spend. I am planning 2 days MK 2 days Epcot and split one day between AK and MGM I have a few questions. First is this plausible? Second if we pay for parking in one park, when we go to another park do we have to pay again? Any help will be greatly appreciated. :sunny:

yes, we usually split mgm & AK when we visited but at the AK we never did Kali or the dinosaur ride so those might take up more of your time if you plan to do them. Also, AK is lots of walking so this park might be best for early morning when you are full of energy.

& No, once you pay parking into 1 park, you will not need to pay to get into the other, just be sure to save the pass so you can show the attendant at the next park. You can also hop a bus between the parks if you want too.

Have fun! :cool1:

You could do Epcot in one day, you just won't see absolutely everything there is. With the ages of our kids', we skip world showcase, they're just not interested in it. Easily did one whole day at MGM & one at AK. 2 days at MK is good.

In my opinion, instead of 2 full days at both MK & EPCOT, I would do 1 & 1/2 days at MK, 1 & 1/2 days at EPCOT, MGM & AK combined for 1 & 1/2 days, and then have a half day left over for any place you wanted to get back to. Whatever you do, however, have MK be your last half day/evening in a park.

Because of the animals, AK closes earlier than the other parks so you can easily combine a 3/4 day at AK with an evening at either EPCOT or MGM; then make the next morning the same park you finished at the night before.

It's really fun and easy to parkhop and, truthfully, you don't want to burn out at one park just so you can see everything in one day...but then again, that won't be too hard at MGM or AK (IMO, that is).

Park hopping is quite easy .... and a fun thing to do :) If you have young children it's a little harder maybe, but still very do-able.

You might want to consider hopping between Epcot and MGM one day. Go to MGM in the morning and then take the boat over to Epcot in the afternoon (or vice versa). Going from MGM to Epcot that way is great because you can go into Epcot through the International Gateway ~ far less crowded than the main entrance.

I agree with Lord F - we hardly go to one park for a full day anymore, usually do half day in one park, back to hotel for dip in pool and break, then ready to go to another park fully recharged! That way once you've rotated through all the parks, you get a better sense of which you and the kids like best, what you missed and what you want to do again.

Think it's very plausible to split a day between AK and MGM -- At least that's our plan. Of course, a lot depends upon the ages of your children and how set you are in seeing/doing certain things.

We're planning to get to AK as soon as they open and do the Safari, Festival of the Lion King, check out the tree and possibly It's Tough to be a Bug, and ride Kali. Then we're over to MGM, possibly making a stop at our hotel (Poly).

We've booked the Fantasmic dinner package, so we'll definitely see Fantasmic. We'd like to see Indiana, Beauty and the Beast, check out Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground, Who Wants to be a $$, and ride TOT, but are O.K. if we miss 1 or more.

We've allowed 3 parks days for MK and Epcot, doing park hopping, and also time back at hotel. Plus one day off from the parks, just enjoying the hotel and maybe DTD.

Don't know about parking. Good luck.:wizard:

I agree on it depends on the ages of your kids. Little kids tend to get bored at Epcot and its hard to drag older kids out of MGM. If your kids aren't into thrill rides then MGM and AK can easily be shared in a day.

Yes, you can split parks. You might not see everything, so do your homework and just be sure what you want and where things are so you dont waste as much time. We actually went to MK one morning, took advantage of low crowds(wasn't early entry day or anything)... then took a short rest and went to MGM about 2pm. I felt we saw most of what I wanted at MGM. have fun

We have split AK and MGM in the past and saw most of the attractions but not all. I agree that it depends on the ages of your kids to determine what would be best. Since you will have the park hopper option, you could even split Ak w/ a half day at epcot and then spend another full day at epcot and a full day at MGM. We have always finished AK in less than half a park day, it does not take long. As far as parking goes, I think that once you pay for parking at one park you don't have to pay at another on the same day. But you could also take the Disney Transportation to the other parks, this is very easy. You will have fun no matter what you decide! :sunny:
