Hi everyone,

So our first Disney trip was cancelled but we are for sure going in October. It's almost fast pass booking time and I'm trying to decide which day we should do which park...

We'll be going to a park October 28-29. And we are visiting Epcot and MK (no hopper). Friday is a MK early entry and a MNSSHP that we aren't doing so I was thinking of doing Epcot that day and MK on Saturday. Does that make sense? Trying to have as few crowds as possible obviously.

Thank you!

MK and EP will both be crazy on Saturday. Period.

Tell us more about what you want to do in the parks? Why did you pick Epcot as your second park? Is it to enjoy food and wine? To meet Anna and Elsa? To try Soarin and Test Track?

How do you plan to handle having a 15 month old? Will you need to head back in the afternoon or early in the evening or will the child stroller nap? (Or nap on you if you baby wear).

I don't think we know what will happen to crowds when there is no evening parade at MK...

We are Disney Vets from south Florida so we don't rush and go commando style. Basically we are just trying to pick the lesser of the two evils and experience the lowest crowd levels for our 2 park days. I chose Epcot because nine of us are huge AK fans, and our DD is still too young to really sit and enjoy the shows at DS. Yes, there is the Disney Jr show but I'm not going to a park just for that. We do want to enjoy food and wine and there are some attractions our DD can enjoy too. It's a family favorite.

As for traveling with our DD, she's great about sleeping in her stroller but we will definitely be returning to the hotel sometime in the afternoon depending on her her mood, how crowded it is, weather, etc. We don't get open to close.

I keep reading that party days at MK are lighter crowds but with it being a morning emh, I'm not so sure...

The crowd calanders are a good tool, but they have been struggling this year with all of the changes. If it were me and I planned on a trip back to the hotel mid day then I doubt I would go to MK on a party day.

You're going during Food and Wine, so Epcot will be crazy on Saturday. Future World might not be too bad, but you won't want to be in the World Showcase from the afternoon onward.

We went when our son was that age, and since he was an early riser, we'd hit the parks early and stay through the afternoon instead of going back for a mid-day break. Going back and forth to the hotel just seemed to take up too much time (especially at Magic Kingdom!) That's something you might want to consider unless you really want to see the nighttime stuff.

Just so you know, as a FL Resident, 2 day tickets are $204, and 3 day tickets are $199. If you can't use that 3rd day on this particular trip, you have 6 months to use it....which might make a 4 day ticket for $219 an even better choice.

It really depends on how you feel when you consider how often you go to Disney (you said you are Disney vets...). I will be there that same weekend and had purposely chosen Saturday as our break day, because I've heard how crazy Food and Wine crowds get and its always a good rule of thumb to skip MK on the weekends (in my opinion anyway).

Honestly? Depending on what you want to get out of either park, I would've chosen MK on the Friday (which we ARE doing despite being EMH and a party night) and gone to Epcot on the Saturday. Again, it all depends on what you plan to do with DD and and what you want to get out of the park.

If a 3 day is only 5 bucks more than a 2 day, can you get there a little early on Thursday and do Epcot Thursday night? If you are staying on Disney property, I would do the Friday with EMH at MK. I would get there early enjoy the day and stay till 7:00 and then be done. Then on Saturday decide if you got enough of Epcot Thursday night or if you would rather try another park.

No, actually as a Florida resident a three day ticket is five dollars cheaper than a two day ticket.

I have Friday as our Epcot day at the moment. We rarely do nighttime stuff so once we leave the park, we are done.

We bought the 4 day ticket :-)

Saving the other 2 days for another quick trip, especially because we will be house hunting up there soon!

As I mentioned, we did get the 4 day ticket but are saving the two days for another trip. We are arriving early Thursday but will be meeting with a realtor in the afternoon.

Can you switch your meeting with the realtor to Saturday? Then have most of Thursday and Friday? If your wanting to avoid crowds, Saturday would be about the worst day to go to either park!

party days at MK have been dreamy in the past for crowds. We would do MK on Friday and EP on Saturday.

We would 'rope drop' Friday morning, and stay until 4/5 when party crowds start rolling in.

On Saturday at EP - we might have a different afternoon rest strategy. We would get there early (especially not having a late night the night before) - do some rides, then head to WS for some F&W lunch. And then plan to head back to FW for the afternoon/evening. migjt consider an afternoon break this day from 2-5 and going back at night for Epcot. If not a mid day break at hotel - then certainly one at Ellens Energy or Visa food and wine pavilion or DVC or maybe just a few trips thru Livinf with the Land!

Technically we could but we won't be getting into town until around noon, missing all our prime early morning touring time.
