2 out of 3-- Mickey's Backyard BBQ, 1900 Park Fare & Ohana's

Which 2 would you choose and why?

It's me, husband and our 2 1/2 year old.

Does your opinion change if I can only get into O'Hana or Park Fare at 8:10p.m. on the night of Mickey's Backyard BBQ? Mickey's Backyard BBQ starts at 6:30 which is more in line with our regular eating schedule, but I understand it is a 2 hour show.

ADR's are driving me nuts!!! So many restaurants, so many choices, too little time.

Well my opinion does change cause I don't like eating that late. All three our great places. The BYBBQ is a fun show & good food. we had a Blast here. Never been to Ohanna's . It's Family Style & were going in Aug.
1900 Park Fare is good /characters /nice buffet.

My problem is that I have 2 nights available for these 3 meals. On Wednesday, I had no problem getting either O'Hana or Park Fare at 6:45 p.m.

On Friday, I could get either of them, but only at 8:10 and 8:15 p.m. The cast member suggested I go ahead and take the 8:10 ressie and reserve Mickey's Backyard BBQ and then cancel one after I made my decision.

I don't want to hold on to both for too long as I know how difficult it can be to get ADRs.

Having been to MBYBBQ, I would not go with a 2-1/2 year old.

Transportation can be very time consuming. It is very LOUD. The characters would be rather difficult for your child to interact with, IF he wanted to. It isn't so much a SHOW as a dance party with some acts that come out while the band takes a break. I think that you would have a better time with one of your other options.

I did a detailed review with pictures of our experience at MBYBBQ. It is a positive review. I'm not negating it because I think it is a bad thing to do. I just think that it wouldn't be the BEST choice of the three with your child.

With a two and a half year old, you may want to stick to 1900 Park Fare instead of OHana...only because of characters. O'Hana might be fun for you and your husband, but your kiddo might be a little bored, IMHO.

I am doing the Mickey's Backyard Barbeque with a DD2.5 year old in May. I have read that the food that 1900 Park Fare is horrible. I have not seen good reviews in awhile. But if you are looking for personal character attention I would do 1900 Park Fare but not for the food. If you just want the food then Ohana's sounds best but the time is very late and my daughter would probably meltdown at that point. You can take the boat from MK I understand to the Barbeque and if you time it right ride it back and see the fireworks...

We took DD to 1900 and Ohana when she was 2.5. Both restaurants we really enjoyed. The food was wonderful at both and the characters were fun at 1900.

My two year old son had the time of his life last Summer at the BBQ! All of my kids enjoyed it but he liked it the most! If you check out my dining report (link in signature) you can find a ton of pictures from the BBQ. It shows you the food...the characters...and you can see my then 2 year old tickled as can be! Best part...it's all the ice cream you can eat!

Personally we'd choose O'Hana over 1900. Both are fun and the food is great in both places but O'Hana...the food is just a tad bit better and the characters are a lot more fun! O'Hana rocks! Good luck and have fun!

*I was referring to O'Hana breakfast. LOL See what's on my mind...the dinner is great too but there's no characters. 1900 Dinner is not good at all since the refurb. I was so disappointed last time we ate there. It used to be one of our faves....now we avoid the dinner at all costs. The characters are wonderful though. The step sisters...Cindy and her Prince are all very sweet. Have you thought about Chef Mickey's for dinner? Our kids LOVE this...and the food is much better in the evening.

I may get flamed for this, but since a CM had me do it for our ADR I'm going to make a suggestion to try to help you out. I haven't done 1900 Park Fare yet, but I've heard it is wonderful and I have an ADR for our next trip as my DD is a huge Cinderella fan. I called to make the ADR for 5 and the only time they had was even later than yours which would be hard as DD will be 3. The CM told me if I made the reservation for 6, I could have any time I wanted the entire night and it would be no big deal to show up with one less "kid" at the restaurant. I have heard that the same thing happens when you say 4 instead of 3.
