2 or 3 Deluxe rooms for moms and kids? HELP?

Please help me decide b/t 2 or 3 rooms for our group. We will be 3 sisters with 2 kids each and our mother. So 4 "moms" and 6 young kids.

We will be either at Comtemp. or Poly, which have day beds, right? Low season so hopefully definitely connecting rooms.

If we put 2 moms and 3 kids in each room --(1 mom and 1 young kid in each bed & 1 kid on day bed) would we bed too cramped? Should we get the 3rd room?

Is there a charge for the 5th person? I'm wondering how much we'd save by just getting 3 rooms.

P.S. what if we booked 2 rooms and 1 mom and 2 two year old twins bailed out of the trip. Would there be a big penalty to remove them from the ressie? We'd still need the same 2 rooms.

I think you would do fine with 2 rooms. I can't comment on the Poly, but my family really enjoyed our stay at the Contemporary. The rooms are nice and large and there is indeed a daybed. The potty is in a seperate room off of the bathroom which is a definate plus. However, connecting rooms cannot be guaranteed. You can request them, but there is no sure way to know if you will get them or not. Have you thought about maybe trying an on-site villa? That way you would know that you would all be together.

As long as one of the kids doesn't mind being in the room the grandma and aunt instead of mom and grandma doesn't mind sharing a bed with a grandchild, I think two rooms would be fine. Since you only have four adults, there would be no extra person charges. Deluxe rooms are expensive so you would save a lot going from three rooms to two. The rooms at Poly and Contemporary are pretty large.

Well, the only child who would be in a bed with someone besides his mom is one 2 yr old twin, who would do fine. We're all very close and visit a LOT so the kids have grown up sleeping over with aunts, cousins, grandparents, etc.

Have you thought about maybe trying an on-site villa? That way you would know that you would all be together.

We want to be on the monorail line this time, so villas are not really in our plan. Plus, we loved the dining plan last time so we will not do any cooking in. However, maybe I should check the price of the WL villas. They are pretty close.

Why not put all the kids in one room and moms in the other? That way you can have some adult time after you put the kids to bed. We have always put our four kids in the connecting room and just leave the door open. They are closer to us there than they are at home and I bring a nightlight for each room. The kids would probably think that was great, like having a pajama party!

Jo, the kids would love that. If we get connecting rooms, we could definitely give it a try. Last time at Disney (6 months ago) we were all SO tired, not a word was uttered by anyone when our heads hit the pillow.
