2 one way tickets

Looking to book Toronto to LA, 2 one ways is cheaper than booking return on Air Canada as the tax on the LA- Toronto is less, will there be any issues doing this?

No issues at all.

Nope

When we do this (with one airline) I'll call and get them to cross reference our booking references/pnr's.
They just add a note on your file.

One quick follow-up. Make sure you have your return flight information handy when you go through customs on the way there. They'll want to verify that you have a return flight booked and aren't planning on staying.

Yes, we often book 2 one ways for various reasons and we have occasionally been asked to produce our return flight info.
