2 MORE questions today AGAIN!!

As Chalee noted, the same occupancy. Also, if you compare to cash prices, the comparison's are not as favorable coming in at around 40-50% more than a studio. It's difficult to show a cost savings compared to moderates or even deluxe hotels comparing directly to a 1 BR. I realize that a 1 BR offers size and amenities that are more but I put that under added value, not cost savings. If you look at the industry, it's not usual to have a 1 BR at double a studio, the cash prices are more representative at around 50% extra, there are individual exceptions of course.

Ok, thanks. I did my whole cost analysis thing when buying based on Studio's. As it turns out, the contract we are getting will have enough points to do 1 br most of the times we want to go. We may very well end up getting studio's and going more often, but the plan is 1 br. I see not why as far as cost value it's not there, but a week long trip we will use the kitchen so the personal value is definitely there, and as the kids get older it certainly will be there. That's the beauty of DVC.

As far as cost value, we've considered doing split stays in the future during the summer, as in 2-3 nights in a studio, and then switching to a 1 br for the rest of the trip. It enables us to add days to the trip for the same points. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. We also have plans to stay with friends who own and combine points to do a grand villa with them in the future, although at some of the point totals, I don't see value there at certain resorts.

I bought in 1999 when the only 2 choices at WDW were OKW and BWV. I liked both and planned to stay at OKW in May and BWV in early December. Since it's harder to get into BWV, I bought BWV for the 11 month advantage and had no problem getting a 1 bedroom for May at OKW.

I bought DVC for my mom and I to enjoy our vacations at WDW. I had stayed in a 2 bedroom with friends at OKW before I bought. Even though it was just the 2 of us, I wanted the luxury of the 1 bedroom, separate living areas, large bathroom, laundry in room. We never stayed in a studio. She used to call it "our apartment". She passed in 2005 and since then I have gone with friends or solo. I do sometimes book a studio to save points, for example I stayed at VGC last year in a studio. I have a trip in April with 2 friends in a 1 bedroom at BWV.

I elected not to include the sleep 5 issue in the discussion earlier for simplicity but for a given group, that can add value.

Looking at what everything is selling for lately it seems OKW is going for anywhere from $52pp to $60pp. Unless I missed something, that is the lowest price besides HHI or VB on resale right now. OR is there something cheaper?

I saw even SSR 150 point contract were going for over $65 pp and AKL at sometimes $70 pp or more.

I thought since we KNOW OKW is where we want to stay, and it is so cheap to buy into, that would be the best choice. The only time I would ever stay at another resort is if I just could not get availability at OKW.

I DO KNOW that I may not always be able to book at 11 months out. That 7 month window may be more closer to when I would know of solid dates to book. SO that would make my points be the same at any resort basically.

Right now, people are also getting BWV in the 50's. I bought 150 point BWV contract in the summer at $55/pt so it is happening.

In terms of dues, BWV is more expensive so while the buy in price was around the same as OKW, the overall cost will be more.

We bought BWV to add our our BLT ownership because we want to be at those two resorts and we decided to own at the places we will stay most trips so we can take advantage of the home resort booking and be almost guaranteed to get SV rooms at both or BW view rooms at BWV.
