2 hours before flight?

Is it still necessary to arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight? I know it takes time to get thru security, but for a 7 am flight on a Wednesday, is it necessary? Is it busy? Many business travelers? Maybe the thought of leaving home at 4 am has me scared, lol!

It depends on your airport.

If its a Monday morning at MCO the lines will be long. So you would want to give more time.

DFW is a very efficient airport-very organized. If you know your gate number, you can go thru security and be very close to the gate you need. (versus Chicago where it would be a hike to the gate after you went thru security. )

Saturday and Wednesdays are usually the least busiest days to fly.

Early morning flight times tend to have VERY long lines for security. Many airlines offer their best prices on the early morning flights, creating a back up at security. I agree, the thought of leaving home at 4am is a daunting way to start your vacation, but you don't want to miss that flight!

Haha, that is true! I paid $98 for the flight down so I guess I won't complain about the early time! Thanks!
