2 Haunted Mansions, 1 Day: Grand Finale & Link to Pre-Trip Report for Feb. Trip!

That's fantastic!!!!! I want to try and sneak out of this office on my lunch break and pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble. What a cool memento to have of your wedding! (The Roots must be thrilled too!)

Wow Carrie...............how awesome is it that your wedding is in a magazine? I will have to go to the book store just to see it!!!! I love the pic of Patrick looking at the magazine. High-larious!!!!!!!

Thanks for the plug for my trippie too!!!!!!!!!

That is so awesome about the magazine! Those pictures were absolutely gorgeous and so was your wedding.

Another thing.........my DH said after our Disney trip this April, he wants to go some place else for a change. I was freaking out until he said he wanted to go to DISNEYLAND! I hate to fly but will do it for my boys who are so excited since it has been mentioned. Not sure when we are going but I think it will be fun.

Howdy!
Just jumped on board. This has been a fabulous read. I like your sense of humor and 'tell it like it is' attitude. Very refreshing. I'm so glad you did get to do both HMs.
Congrat's on your marriage and the magazine spread. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
You look absolutely gorgeous!

Love the Roots pics! So great! necking near the Tea Cups. :rotfl: Shame shame!

We’d just picked up my next taste (see below) when who should come by but... Jennifaerie and Rob!

But first – the review:

San Juan, Puerto Rico: Mofongo (plantain mash with shrimp)
IMG_8189-1.jpg

I actually threw this away. I love plantains and I love shrimp, but it just tasted like bad....

LOL! Where did they make that? It looks horrible and nothing like real Mofongo! :lmao:

Yahoo!!! Super fun that you were featured in an article in a wedding magazine! There's just something about making into print...

Totally! I have a chip on my shoulder about people who think Disney weddings are tacky, so getting validated in print felt good! :cutie:

is the magazine this month's? because i had planned to swing by barnes and noble tomorrow to check it out ... i'm so happy for you guys !! you both looked amazing and your pics are beautiful. totally model centerfold worthy.

:rotfl: Yes - it's the Annual Issue, which means it'll be out from Jan-March.

but glad you got to see them for the last time. they were truly wonderful. it's a shame that disney closed them. for people like us that weren't into the dance scene but wanted to experience disney nightlife, the adventurer club was awesome.

I agree and I still don't get why they couldn't have left at least AC open for us types. :confused3

   I TOLD YOU........ YOU WERE THE GREATEST! Now the WORLD is going to know how great your wedding was and how fun you and DH are! Gosh, I "know" a celebrity now......

:rotfl2: Tell me how to turn this celebrity into money, baby!!!

I love Patrick's shirt. My DFiance was very jealous-not about your celebrity magazine status, but Patrick's shirt.

As it should be! :thumbsup2 They sell the shirts at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot.

That's fantastic!!!!! I want to try and sneak out of this office on my lunch break and pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble. What a cool memento to have of your wedding! (The Roots must be thrilled too!)

Yes - I am so proud of them - their first magazine feature! (I was hoping we got published soon, because they have so many gorgeous brides and grooms, I predict their work will be seen in many, many more magazines... :goodvibes )

Congratulations! I think it will be worth the flight. :) Let me know if you need tips!

Welcome aboard - and thanks for the nice comments! :cloud9:

In 2015 when we do a vow renewal, they are sooooo doing my pics!

Right on!! :cheer2:

LOL! Where did they make that? It looks horrible and nothing like real Mofongo! :lmao:

SO glad to hear it - real mofongo sounds fabulous! I'll have to see if our local Cuban place makes it....

More Root-y goodness for you at last! (I gotta finish this report before we leave for our next trip... in 3 weeks!).

I forgot to put some commentary in the last installment, but it was pretty mundane. Like how my makeup turned out WAY too heavy for my taste (fake eyelashes? no thank you!) but ended up looking great on film. When we got into Disneyland at rope drop we tried to rush to New Orleans Square for photos before anyone got there, but they had a rope up. I tried to jump it in my enthusiasm and got yelled at – grrrr!

Anyway, it all worked out, because even when it finally opened, there was still hardly anybody there!

At last... the Court d’Anges! This is my favoritist spot in all of Disneyland – or any Disney park I’ve been to! Patrick knew this, and that’s why he proposed there. Buckle up – there’s a lot of smooching ahead....

Up next: A Little Bit of Morocco in Disneyland!

These pictures are absolutely amazing! You have some great memories! :cool1:

:rotfl2: Tell me how to turn this celebrity into money, baby!!!

Well, now that you've mentioned it...... I actually HAVE given this some thought on your behalf. I just feel you are too talented in the ol' Disney department to go to waste.

So... I thought that at some point, your Disboard "friends" (such as myself) should have a brainstorming session with you to come up with ideas on how you can work your Disney "celebrity/talents."

Off the bat....:surfweb:
1. I know that you are an editor, you enjoy Disney blogging... have you thought about freelance writing articles about both Disney parks?
2. Have you thought about writing a book about the two Disney parks? Sure there are others, but not written by someone with your joie de vivre and writing skills....
3. Have you thought about spinning your "wedding celebrity" into a Disney bridal consultant kind of thing? Is this an idea for articles or books, for instance, if not an actual hand's on thing...?

Do what you love, and the money will follow.... I love and believe in that message. You are so talented in this area... I'll just bet there is something you were meant to do here...

I love that you re-enacted your propsal - the picture of you spinning with your dress flying out is great too (hmmm I didn't explain that very well....probably should have just quoted it.)

I'll quote this one, because it's also great!

Speaking of living in treehouses, did you know that they are turning those old treehouse-style condos into DVC properties at WDW? They'll be part of Saratoga Springs I think...not quite as cool as the treehouses in the park, but more treehouse-like than the other resorts!

I agree, the spinning dress is beautiful, like an art photo.

You're right. They will be part of the Saratoga resort.

I love all the pictures! I was looking for one as my favorite to quote, but I can't decide! You two are such an adorable couple. (Now please stop, or all of us 'not quite as adorable' couples will get a complex!)

Carrie............more beautiful pictures. I loved the ones in the Court D'Anges. I know that is where you really wanted to get married, so having those beautiful pictures from there is very meaningful.
The tree house shots are adorable too!!!! I kept meaning to climb the tree house & we never did. I just keep coming up with more reasons that we have to come back & not like in 10 years but SOON!!!!
Can't wait for a little bit of Morocco at Disneyland. popcorn::

Beautiful pictures Carrie!! They came out so nice. Roots is fabulous.. but of course, they had fabulous subjects to work with! ;)

I find it hard to believe that neither of you chose to pose UNDER the hat!
Move back, just a little... ;)

I have to confess I'd never even SEEN those hats until we got our pictures back from the Roots!

These pictures are absolutely amazing! You have some great memories! :cool1:

Definitely! We're going to have more Blurb.com books than we know what to do with!

 Thank you for thinking of me! I have to confess I have been thinking a lot about this, and I completely agree about doing what you love - DH is an inspiration in that department. He's never had any other job but puppeteer, and he loves it!

I have heard about these and would *love* to stay in one. I wish they'd be done in time for our anniversary trip, but maybe the prospect of sleeping in one will get DH back to WDW later this year when they're done. :thumbsup2

Check out the beautiful pattern in the paving stones. I never knew they made a spiral until I saw some N.O. Square concept art a few years ago.

:rotfl: You are too kind... I think... :cutie: Don't worry - the end of Makeoutfest '08 is near. Soon it will be just the Roots' gorgeous scenic shots.

You must come back! I can help you think up more reasons, if you'd like.

After we climbed down from the tree house, we made our way toward an area of the park that’s become a favorite since our vaguely Moroccan wedding, the Aladdin storytelling spot that replaced the Tahitian Terrace restaurant adjacent to the Tiki Room. It’s a pretty dreadful show, but the theming is great and there’s beautiful courtyard waiting area.

The Enchanted Tiki Room is another of our favorites. A lot of people think it’s cheesey, but we LOVE tiki stuff and the fact that it was the first attraction with Animatronics and just find it charming. I think Nathan and Jensey were not similarly enthralled, but they dutifully took amazing pictures of the place for us!

Those are the last shots of us you’ll have to endure for a while. At this point, we all took a break so they could have alone time and we could go swimming in the Disneyland Hotel’s Neverland Pool. But don’t worry – there will be more gorgeous Root shots of Disney later in the day when we all meet up again!

Us walking off into the sunset...
