2 guys, a mom and the mouse. NOW COMPLETED!!! PIC INTENSIVE TR.

Good pix! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Can't wait to see the award winning hub picture, and I liked your commentary on the SMGG warning signs and the people who ignore them.

Not even that. We live in Sacramento. We homeschool and on the monthly calendar I have the days we are going listed as a field trip. We are getting up "ugly early" and loading him in the car. Going to see how long we can postpone telling him. Hoping we can make it all the way to the hotel before he figures it out. It is his first time at DL. We are WDW people but living in in CA now it only makes sense to go to DL.

Need to get a pretrip report started.

:) I grew up in San Jose, and we rarely went to DL. One Thanksgiving we drove to the Grand Canyon to meet up with my aunt and her little family, and the whole way down we tortured my mom and stepdad "can we go to DL can we go to DL" on so on. Had a nice Thanksgiving, GC is so lovely, etc etc, then it was time to drive home. We'd sort of lost heart in begging, and I know there was a long lull in asking about Disneyland. Then I remember it was evening, and back then they still had the big sign off the freeway, and we saw it, and renewed our efforts....can we go can we go can we go...and the mom and stepdad acted like "oh well, yeah, I guess, let's see if they have room", but of course they had this WHOLE thing planned out, LOL> Got to stay at the DLH, when before (if we'd been before, can't recall) and definitely after we just stayed at the Motel 6...first time for room service, how exciting. :) It's pretty much the only surprise that's ever worked on me OR that I've enjoyed, so I remember it fondly.

Maybe tell your son you're off to see the swallows at San Juan Capistrano? LOL. Or just something that he would find sooooo boring, etcetc, so he doesn't get excited to see *that*, and can be happy for disney. :)

The strange thing is... as a kid I would have loved to see the swallows. I was a strange kid though.

Hey there! I just finished reading your TR and am loving it so far! You and Chris420 look like you have a lot of fun together and your little funny comments throughout the TR really make it. I was so sad that my husband and I didn't get to ride Space with the Halloween makeover - we missed it by a number of days!!! And we missed out on Haunted Mansion...boo! But I'm glad I got to experience both through your TR.

Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more installments. :)

PS - I'm sorry to hear about your parents. There is nothing worse then watching your parents in pain and in trouble. My thoughts go out to you.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. It is too bad that you missed the halloween layovers. They were fun.

Thank you for your kind words. I do appreciate it.

Thanks for the new installments! All the food looks delicious! :)

It's my pleasure, I love sharing my disney pics with friends. I have lot's more food porn coming up.

Wow, that is the pits. I'm sure everyone is scared and confused. I think the only thing you CAN do is hope. Everything else, unfortunately, is in the hands of someone else. I really hope your family comes out of everything alright, and that you're stronger for going through all the drama. Much love. :goodvibes

JustaKid, thank you for being so supportive and for being an avid follower of my TR. It means a lot.

Yeah as I was typing I thought "but they might like that"...however, is this the "season" for them to be there?

I was just trying to think of something not FUN FUN FUN FUN that is actually further away from them than DLR, so they'd be "just passing by" on their way. :)

By the way, I really am sorry that both of your parents are having challenges right now. It wasn't in the forefront of my brain while typing earlier.

Part 10!

Monday Sept 28th.

Monday was the day that Chris and I would be in the parks without my mother. My mother on the other hand went into LA to go see Craig Ferguson tape his show. She had a great time and wants to do it again. She wants to see Conan next time though.

Since there was no MM on monday, we slept in till 7:30. I know, right? It is scary to think that is sleeping in. Upon getting up and slowly taking showers, getting dressed, having the first cigarette and coffee of the morning, we headed to White Water Snacks.

Originally, Chris had planned on getting the breakfast burrito, but he was still a little tipsy from the night before, so he opted out of eating. I however, got the biscuit sandwich and it was delicious.

100_2698.jpg

After WWS we headed to the monorail and into tomorowland. Once we arrived, we headed to the most logical destination. SMGG... only for fast passes this time though.

With fastpasses secured we trekked over to Indy for a exciting morning ride.

Chris looks really excited....

100_2703.jpg

I was scared. :thumbsup2
100_2705.jpg

After Indy, we decided we wanted some more adrenaline rush. We decided that since it was close, we would head to good old BTMRR.

100_2707.jpg

100_2708.jpg

Aparently, the booze were stronger than we thought. Chris fell asleep on BTMRR!

100_2709.jpg

Once we got off, we met up with a rooting tooting cowpoke over in Big Thunder Ranch. We never had a picture with Sheriff Woody, and there was no wait, so we snatched up the opportunity.

100_2710.jpg

Knowing that we wanted to go to Tom Sawyer's Island on that day, we made our way back to New Orleans Square. We had long since decided that monday would have to be the day for TSI. I did not have to worry about leaving my mother alone, since obviously TSI is not very wheelchair friendly.

On our way to the rafts, we stopped in front of pirates. We were sad pirates.

100_2712.jpg

There would be no more Caribbean adventures for us for the rest of the trip.

We hopped on the rafts to TSI and headed ashore. I enjoyed the experiance, but I do not think it will be a priority next time. I am too old for rope bridges, lots of stairs and caves with low clearances.

I loved the way this picture came out.

100_2721.jpg

100_2722.jpg

100_2724.jpg

If only it were real...

100_2725.jpg

I was really happy that I got to see the old Mine train through natures wonderland train.

100_2726.jpg

After a tour of the Island, we decided we had enough and headed back to the rafts.

Once we got back to NOS, we spotted some familiar faces... and a not too unreasonable line.

100_2727.jpg

100_2728.jpg

100_2729.jpg

After we left Jack and Sally, we stopped a a vendor and got a couple of sodas. Chris insisted I take a picture of oogie.

100_2730.jpg

We headed back through adventureland towards the hub.

ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT!

AS I HAVE STATED PREVIOUSLY, WE FEEL THAT THIS IS THE BEST HUB PICTURE EVER!!!!

100_2733.jpg

The photopass photographer insisted that we pose again so he could take a picture with his camera. He assured us that he would win picture of the day for it.

Part 11 coming shortly!!!

AS ALWAYS PLEASE LEAVE ME LOT'S OF COMMENT LOVE

Oh my goodness, this latest installment gave me a much needed smile and laugh! :goodvibes

I love the sad pirates, the treasure picture and the hub picture. Pure awesomeness.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Three things....

1. Fabulous hub picture....but I still like the earlier one with 3 of you seating almost as much.

2. What are you carrying around in that backpack? I try to carry as little as possible during the day (however do spring for a locker to hold jackets for my family for the evening) so I don't have to schlep stuff around....

3. The food pictures are fabulous....I feel like I have gained 5 pounds (that I can't afford) just reading your TR....I'm going to need to plan some healthy eating choices for our 1 day trip and try to stick to the plan....Disney is wonderful and fun but not worth jeapordizing your health for....sigh....

OMWord! Two pages with out a post or a look from me due to a 103 fever and being stuck on the couch. BUT my fever is down to 101 now...and I felt the need to battle the sweat and the ten foot hike from the couch to the computer to check on my favorite fabulous ninja and his adorable friend's TR. and I must say it was all worth it! I mean come on how could one NOT smile, laugh, snort, or spit what ever beverage they were drinking at the time when viewing the BEST EVER HUB PICTURE!!!!!!!!!! That is beyond classic!

Im really sorry to hear about your family medical problems. It totally sucks. My mom goes in for back surgery next week. I live in Northern Ca and she lives in Southern Ca. She wont let me come down to help her. So I worry about that. You can get through it. Im always around if you want to chat.

Oh can I say you must go look back at one of your screamin pictures, the guy behind you looks like he is trying to lick your ear off! I love it. hahah

I so love the drunkard pictures. They are a favorite of mine. I never leave the house with out it when Im with my friends. ooooh there are some pictures they really hate me for! bhwahahaha bwahahaha (evil evil laugh!) Have you ever had an AMF? next time try that!

Like everyone else here I'm loving the hub picture. You guys went all out for it with Chris taking off his shoes and wearing the ears.

Great hub picture.

Has anyone ever told Chris that he looks like David Archuleta?:lmao:

I am sorry to hear about your Dad's health problems and your Mom's problems with her back.

I told you guys that it was the BEST HUB PICTURE EVER! I don't think we can ever top it

Great hub picture!

Poor sad pirates....

Thanks for hopping on board Molly... I know you are gonna have a great trip as well.

:lmao: Ahhhh! I love it!! :lmao:

I really thought it would be up your alley! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

omg, that hub picture is the best! :rotfl2:

Thank you... it was Chris's genius idea.

Oh my goodness, this latest installment gave me a much needed smile and laugh! :goodvibes

I'm glad we were able to make you laugh.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. As far as my backpack, I usually carry a hat, a times schedule, our dining schedule, pain killers, basic first aid, sun block, and poncho's in case of wanting to use them on a water ride. It holds a surprising amount for what appears to be a small backpack. I also use it to hold small souvenirs I may buy.

The hub picture is hilarious !!!! :lmao:

Thanks jobo! I'm glad to see you are still following along. Any chance of you sharing any pics from your recent trip?

Yes it is. I only wish I thought of it.

LOVE the hub picture!!!! :lmao:

I'm so glad. Stay tuned, we have a couple other good ones.

Ha! Very nice picture!

Wait till you see our Tower Pictures. :rotfl2:

Like everyone else here I'm loving the hub picture. You guys went all out for it with Chris taking off his shoes and wearing the ears.

You should have seen the photographer, he was a bit stunned until he realized what we where doing.

Stay tuned for more food porn and an awesome picture on TOT!
The next part will be coming shortly.

Now we come to Part 11!

After leaving the hub we headed over to tomorowland to snatch up another fast pass for SMGG.

We had to wait a few minutes for our window of time to open. So while we waited, we sat over at Red Rocket's.

100_2734.jpg

100_2735.jpg

After snagging our 2nd set of FP's for SMGG, we headed off to lunch at The Carnation Cafe. While we waited for our table, we saw another famous face.

Chef Oscar!
100_2736.jpg

100_2737.jpg

I was very excited about trying the loaded baked potato soup...

100_2738.jpg

Which I took a big bite out of before I remembered to take a picture. SOOOOO GOOD!

100_2739.jpg

Café Steak Melt - Grilled beef slices, melted pepper-Jack cheese and caramelized onion on grilled sourdough. With potato salad. (This was mine. Very tasty)

100_2740.jpg

100_2741.jpg

Chris had a pot pie. He got the beef stroganoff pot pie. He thought it was great.

100_2742.jpg

100_2743.jpg

After a delicious lunch, we headed back to the room to rest for a few minutes and to pick up some things. Once we had a moment to sit, in the room, we headed over to DCA through the GCH entrance and took a quick spin on GRR while we waited for Brittany to meet us. We got off GRR to find Brittany waiting for us by the lockers. With Britt in tow, we headed to TOT.

On our way up to the room, we stopped at the hotel's coffee shop.

100_2744.jpg

I had espresso. :lmao:
100_2745.jpg

After we left tower, we headed to PP. They went to Maliboomer, while I went to the bathroom. The steak melt, while delicious... was not agreeing with my stomach.

Once I felt better, I met them over at the Maliboomer...

100_2746.jpg

I watched them ride it.... I will probably try it the next time chris and I go.

DCA was only open till 6 on this day, so we headed over to California Screamin, to ride it once before the day was over.

100_2748.jpg

I was sad, it was a 40 minute standby line and they had the fast passes shut off that day.

100_2749.jpg

At this point the batteries in my camera died, so I could not get the ride picture.

Once we left CS, we headed over to DL where we met up with Brittany's boyfriend and fellow CM, Chad.

The parks were exceptionally crowded, so we did not do much. I kept forgetting to change my batteries for my camera, but I think we rode SMGG,. DL was super packed! LA county schools were out that week! I stopped at eidelweiss snacks and got a frozen apple juice slushie which was really good. SO good I forgot to take a picture.

100_2750.jpg

Realizing that the parks were just too crowded, and we were just to tired, we headed back to the hotel with Brittany and Chad. We knew another trip to the Lost Bar was in order.

100_2753.jpg

Chad doesn't drink...
100_2754.jpg

Gin and tonic for me.

100_2756.jpg

After the Lost Bar, we all headed over to ESPN Zone for more booze and food. We put our names in with the host, but the wait was 45-60 so we headed up stairs to play games. I enjoyed the target practice games and the hunting games especially. Chris and I played a game of Air Hockey.

100_2758.jpg

100_2759.jpg

While playing around in the arcade, the three of us continued to drink. 1 gin and tonic quickly met 3 beers and a shot. I don't drink this much normally... not in my character at all actually. What can I say, it was vacation.

Chris and I split the hot wings and cheese fries... My two favorite things at ESPN Zone.

100_2760.jpg

100_2761.jpg

100_2762.jpg

Once we finished our meals and our drinks, we headed back to the hotel room, where I crashed for the evening and Chris went to House Of Blues for a free show. He will have to tell you about that.

End of part 11.

Coming soon... PART 12 : LAST DAY IN THE PARKS! LOT'S OF CHARACTERS AND BREAKFAST FOOD PORN FROM MINNIES!
