(2) Gosselin kids expelled from school for bullying

You have to feel badly for anyone who is bullied, but I think the presumption of innocence should be extended to six year-olds.

They weren't expelled for no reason. If the school felt expulsion was necessary, then I'll believe it was.

Frankly, I don't even believe they were "expelled." Look at the sources quoted in the original link--People magazine, the New York Post, In Touch. I can't take any of those "news" sources seriously.

The main news sources also reported it, however, it was word for word as shown in the very first report, and also said an unnamed source. I do believe they were withdrawn from the school, and it may have been for bullying, but as with any unnamed source, good news, bad news, I'm always guarded as to what really happened. Just an aside, People usually is pro Kate..but of course any news that will sell mags will be 'reported'.

Yes, but People mag is pro Kate. So I would rethink not believing them.

I don't for one second believe that Kate makes her kids each the SAME lunches over and over until they finish. She probably does pack the same thing and people like to say this about her. However I do have to say that as far as packing lunches, she lost me when she packed them the night before, I can't and won't eat bread that has been refrigerator. YUCK, but then again, I am picky about my sandwiches.

You wouldn't like my own lunches. I used to make them on Monday (turkey) and freeze them. They were perfect byt lunch time LOL. My kids were always made the night before. No time in the morning with so many of us getting ready to leave. My bread is in the fridge all the time, so that wouldn't be a biggy.

I do believe if they don't eat their fruit (and I heard her say once on a show, no dessert until the regular food is gone) and sandwich, she would repack that and or the treat.

NOpe, wouldn't like them at all. And wouldn't eat them. am not picky abouf food in general and really like just abouth anything, except cold bread. My mom was the same way. Thank God. We hated cold bread. And still do, unless I am going to toast it.

The New York Post is not exactly known for its reporting; it's one step above a tabloid. I wonder if it's a paid source -- I guess Aunt Jodi still needs the money.

That being said, I'm not surprised. These kids are not growing up in the most ideal situation. Beyond the TV show, there are 8 kids fighting for attention and the adults are not the best role models.

Most people do feel sympathy for the Gosselin kids because their parents chose to put everything out there and take away any resemblance of a normal childhood. I feel sorry for them that everyone had to see their mother bullying everyone she came in contact with.

Why in the world shouldn't there be sympathy for the kids who were bullied (apparently enough for the school to ask the two Gosselin children to leave)? Does it change if you are bullied by cute, famous children? Does it make less of bullying if the "bullies" are on tv?

I didn't say that the said unknown children didn't deserve any sympathy. That isn't what I said at all.


I just found it very odd that someone felt the need to come in and lecture the posters in this thread that they hadn't given adequate sympathy to the bullied kids.

I think everyone here would agree that the bullied kids, whomever they are, deserve plenty of sympathy.

My argument to the poster I quoted was that the Gosselin kids deserve a little empathy too.

We all know she believes that...nothing new there. I have no idea if the kids would be sad if they didn't film or have the film crew. We've discussed that ad naseum.

No remark on how happy it must make the kids that one of the dogs came home? I'm glad they have something happy like this! And if the kids are getting the attention for school they need by being home schooled by their own personal teacher (I know some think home schooled is just for moms to do, but it really isn't) for now, I'm happy about that too. Assuming any or all of the article is true, of course.
