Hi, I am a lurker on your trip reports (they are great!!) and finally have to post because I think I have some information for you I think I remember that the mini-cake is only available at the GF restaurants and perhaps the castle. I was thinking about that for our last trip. So this might be why the Yacht Club and Le Cellier did not tell you about it. Also it seems from the cake thread that Boardwalk and GF bakery are the two best places to get custom cakes from. But in my opinion, chocolate covered strawberries are better than a cake!

Thanks so much for your input. I did wind up calling the BW bakery. They had some cute cake ideas but the problem is - I would have to pick the cake up myself, which defeats the surprise factor. I think I'm sticking with the choc.covered strawberries.

Thanks so much for the good wishes! We're so excited.

So the van is picking us up at 4:30 am tomorrow.(ugh!) Lauren thinks we should just stay up all night because the Jonas Brothers are on Saturday Night Live and she really wants to see them (and I wouldn't mind either! ). The show ends at 1am so why sleep for just 3 hours, right? Guess we'll see!

I am probably not right about this but I was reading Akershus menu (EPCOT, Norway) and I think I remember it saying something about recognizing special events. I'm not sure that includes cakes etc. It might be something to look into.

I am planning a trip for my grandkids for August 2010, especially character meals. In my "research" it seems that a number of folks think the Akershus character meal is as good as Cindy's Table.

Yes, Tammie - I answered your question; back on my post for Thurs. Brief summary: from our room, which faced the front of the BW, I could still see some fireworks and fainlty hear the music. I've had a BW view room though in the past, and you can see Illuminations perfectly from the BW!

That is so cool! We really need to stay there some time! I was so sure it would be too noisy, but it looks so beautiful and convenient!

Hey everyone! WE'RE BACK!!!!!

Can't say we're too happy to be back though. It was 20 degrees when we landed in Boston last night. UGH! That was a rude welcome home!

Anyway, Lauren and I had a wonderful time and she certainly got alot of special treatment for her birthday celebration (some of which was very embarassing - which mom got a BIG kick out of!). We had alot of laughs, stayed out late, and tried some new attractions: The American Idol Experience in DHS and the Team KimPossible assingments in Worls Showcase are especially cool!

I have over 550 pix to upload and will be starting a trip report shortly. I'll post the link here so check back later!

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone! I'm in the middle of downloading my 555 pictures to photobucket! Amanda came home at 4, so I'm also trying to spend some time with her.
