2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Love the update!

1. Dinner looked yummy - nice you met TigerKat!

2. Those treats from Goofy's Candy Co. are awesome! I really will have to stop by there next time. I usually try not to - I'll be "wearing" it for awhile if I do. We do buy the caramel apples and share slices of them for dessert - pretzels can't be much worse, can they?

3. WOD - you know they do that on purpose - if you are lost, you'll spend more time looking around, and probably buy more things. It is frustrating when you know what you want and can't find it.

Looking forward to your next installment!

Hi Tammie! You MUST experience Goofy's Candy Co.! And, I must have forgot to mention this but everything there is FAT-FREE! So no worries!

Oh, ok! I'm very near that age! Yea, I'm ok on some coasters, (ex. BTMRR) but some I'm just crying my eyes out in fright. I'm pretty lame. On our last trip, I walked through the line, and right next to the line, just to see the lobby and stuff, and then I took the elevator (not the ride!) back down.

We're going in the last week of January '09. But I can't really schedule meet-ups if that's what you wanted to know. I'd have to ask my parents. :thumbsup2

You are definitely right - NEVER arrange a meet w/out parents' permission first.:thumbsup2 We aren't going again until Feb.; I wanted to know when in Jan. you were going to get an idea if it would be crowded or not. If not, I was going to suggest getting in line for ToT, and if by the time you got up to the ride, you changed your mind, you could just leave and not feel bad about waiting too long in line. I'm thinking the end of Jan. isn't busy at all so you could try that strategy.

Now as for coasters, Lauren absolutely LOVES BTMRR! And she just tried RnRC this past trip. She was scared to death at first, but after much persuading, she decided to try it and it's now one of her favorites!

(And, btw, Lauren was reading your post and she still claims there is NO WAY she is ever going on ToT again! )

We're trying for BCV for our trip in April. Epcot is my favorite park and my BF, Chris, just likes the idea of being in walking distance of a park (he's never been to Epcot, poor boy.) If I con him into going again next Christmas idk where we'd stay yet. When thinking about the Christmas trip in the past I always was thinking value resorts since thats all we could really afford at this point but now that we might be able to stay in the DVC resorts it opens up so many more possibilities! :woohoo:

Never been to Epcot!:scared1: And, don't forget - you can also walk to DHS from the BCV. Seriously, you'll stay at the Epcot resorts once and be spoiled for life!

I laughed out loud at your "Mickey and Minnie in bed" comment! :rotfl:

I'm glad I'm not alone on the World of Disney store. I just lost it in there, it's so busy and it's a total maze. After 45 minutes of us being in there we found a whole room we hadn't even noticed. How is that even possible?!

I love your tips on meeting the Princesses as well. As of right now there is NO agenda of a Princess meal ever on a WDW trip for this gal, being that my DH would haaaate it and I'm guessing Henry won't be all too keen on it either! But, should I have a Princess someday, I will INSIST! :goodvibes

The Twas the Night Before Christmas show looks great! I have never even heard of it before your TR.

Your pool day sounds wonderful (minus the whole food cost thing)...we are going to have a couple of those on this upcoming trip as well. Hopefully it will be warm enough in January to still enjoy the pool during the day!

One last comment....I love Amanda's jeans with the Disney patches-very cute!

I'm wondering too if it will be warm enough in Feb. for a pool day. I've heard it's probably it's coldest down there during the months of Jan.-March. Of course, swimming in cold temps. doesn't bother Lauren in the least!

And - Amanda's jeans -- I soooo want a pair for myself! I bought them 4 years ago at a shop in AK for Lauren. I've never seen anything like them since!

:) Yea.

Yea, we were trying to go for less crowds, because that week is the first week of the new semester and Middle School. I'm more on the "not ride" side of my decision. I'm definitely not riding RnRC. I hate going upside down, and it just looks scary. My parents, my brother, and my friends have all told me the same thing, "You can't even tell it's there," or "I turned around and the loop was back there," and "You will love it." So I'm not doing that 'til I'm older. ;)

Oh yes, BTMRR is so much fun! I love it so much. It's so not scary, but it's got that thrill feeling to it. But last trip, my stomach hurt a lot  so we went back to the hotel and we got a Mickey Bar, and I felt better then we went back for EMH at MK.

 Lauren, that just made me want to ride it even less.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. I still have so much to do to get ready for the holidays; but today was a miserable, snowy, rainy day - forced me to stay indoors and do some baking, wrapping and yes, DISing!

:) Yea, I'm just picturing my parents now if someone just walked up to us and was like Oh my gosh, Hi! Remember me? :rotfl2:

Going upside down was what terrified Lauren the most about RnRC! She said it wasn't as bad as she imagined but, I agree - you should only ride it when you think you're ready. Heck, I'm nervous now; when we go back in Feb. for her 13th birthday, she's told me she's forcing ME to ride it!:scared1:

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi Cammie! Can't wait for the next installment!
:flower3: Anne:flower3:

Hi Anne! Thanks for checking in! I'll be coming up with a new installment, hopefully, before dinnertime tonite!

Cammie - Ally and I will meet you in Feb and all go on RnR together! Ally loves it!!!! So no worries, if it's good enough for a 7 yr old, who has no fear AT ALL then it's good enough for us! I don't mind the loops, you can't even feel them, but I HATE the take off!

I need more pics! Her I am telling you that and I haven't touched my TR in several days - but I need something to read at the hotel Saturday night. Just me, Ally and the dog. I'll be going crazy!!!!!

Seriously? I just read this to Lauren and she said she would LOVE that! It's Feb. break - the week of President's Day. Are you guys off?

And, I've been seriously neglecting my TR also. I know any update takes a good hour to do; but I promise to get a new one on tonite!:thumbsup2

Ah, I'm totally with ya Lauren. It's creepy, now I'm actually considering riding it! :confused3 I don't know what made me want to ride it. It was either Lauren, the fact that everyone says you can't tell you're upside down, or I'm just not scared of it anymore. But it just seems so not scary when you're not there, but when you're there, it's just Fear City. :scared: But yea, I might ride it. I don't know. I'm crazy.

 She's making you ride it? Stinks I can't do that to my parents, they've rode everything there- obsession!!! :rolleyes1

Can't wait for new update! :yay: :woohoo:

Our plans for today were to spend a few hours at Epcot - mostly in WS since I didn't get to enjoy my leisurely stroll around there on our first day because of the massive F&W crowds. We then had early ADRs for the Fantasmic dinner pkg. at Mama Melrose's in DHS and then, obviously, Fantasmic.

We slept in a little and headed out the door by 10:30, enjoying our leisurely walk over to Epcot, once again, through International Gateway. I swear, I NEED to remember to take pictures on this walk over.

We stopped off at the souvenir store (World Passport store, I think) to scope out some souvenirs to buy later. As we made our way up the hill to the bridge, we realized we had not yet to eaten anything and our tummies were growling. Now, since our dinner ADRs were early afternoon, I didn't really want to sit down and have a "meal" so we decided to just enjoy the many snacks that Epcot has to offer. First stop, the bakery in France:

First - the obligatory picture in front of the Eiffel Tower:

I did a real good job of capturing it, didn't I?;)

On to food -- so many choices.............
DSC03652.jpg

We decided on these two gems for our breakfast: chocolate mousse and, I can't remember what the other thing was called but it had slivered almonds, cream and powdered sugar! Yes, the breakfast of champions!
DSC03653.jpg

Once we polished those off, we headed on over to the next country -- not without checking to see if the GreyGoose Citron Slushie cart was opened yet. It wasn't!:headache: On to Morocco................

Lauren trying on some headgear:

Amanda got into the act too:

We continued around WS, making stops in the shops along the way........

In Italy, I got myself a Bellini:

In Japan, we found some Lost toys. Not really sure what they were, but we're HUGE fans of the show, so Lauren wanted to get a picture of the toy that featured Jack:

In China, I really wanted to try one of the tea slushie drinks they offer there. I ordered the Peach Oolong Tea:
DSC03665.jpg

I liked it!
DSC03666.jpg

Of course, we couldn't pass Germany without Lauren getting one of her pretzels:
DSC03660.jpg

I was also thrilled to see that Epcot was starting to get into the holiday spirit. Poinsiettas were popping up all over the place!

As we turned right, out of Germany we were happy to see Amanda's favorite princess! She's so nice to her!

Snow White gave Amanda a smooch goodbye.......

which stayed with Amanda for the rest of the day!

And, I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut this post short because I just noticed the time, and I've got to get Lauren to basketball practice! Sorry!

Back with more from our day at Epcot and then DHS!!!

LOST has TOYS???????!!!!!!!! I loves me some Lost toys!!! I guess Lonnie & I will be spending more quality time in the Japan shops this trip....

Ok- I JUST finished eating dinner, I'm trying to be good and be done, and then I see the pastry post?!!!! OMG!!! I have GOT to live closer to France!:rotfl2: Those pastries look soooooooooooooo good.....wonderful breakfast choices!

And I'll have to remember- in China, it's the Peach Tea Slushie I want - NEVER the Green Tea Slushie.:crazy2: Thanks for reminding me!:goodvibes

Excuse me? Looks like Amanda is having a Bellini! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the update - looks like a great start to your day, with all the snacks and drinks.

Woohoo! Epcot! My favorite park. :yay:

Mmm, those pastries make my stomach growl.
Ah yes, the breakfast of champions.

Snow White was so sweet to Amanda! The princesses are just so polite and sweet. So excellent.

Love Lauren's sunglasses. :upsidedow

Back to RNR we my family have declared we will do RNR this trip which is in 4 days:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I am staring to get :scared1: :scared1: evan though it was my idea because I read the GMax TR and she did it so there for I thought I could do it but now I am not sure:scared1: Can some one else please comment on it good bad or ugly:santa:

Oh I am loving your report.

I went on this on our last family trip, and I will most definitely ride it again! It's a blast- literally!:rotfl: The themeing of the ride is excellent, not to be missed. Just to give you some backround on me- I am NOT into big roller coasters- I HATE heights and a big drop. It took me all these years to get up the nerve to ride Splash Mountain because of that big drop at the end- what alot of wasted trips those other years were! A few years ago I realized that I was missing out on alot of family bonding over going on these rides- and Disney rides are "doable", they're not like Kingda Ka or anything! So I started sucking it up and going on most of them- I still have ToT, though- I'll be doing that one in November. The trip is MUCH more fun when you try all those rides!!! And RnR is REALLY fun- I screamed the whole time, very funny! And everyone who has said you can't tell when you're upside down is right- the thought of it is MUCH worse than it actually is. To me, a big drop when you come out of your seat is waaaaayyyy more terrifying- and RnR doesn't have that. You are plastered to the seat the entire time. Hope you'll try it!:thumbsup2

And, yes those French pastries should not be missed! We usually get a small box with a variety to take back to the room. YUM! As for the tea slushies: I wouldn't say it's one of my top fave drinks that Epcot offers, but if you find yourself in that area and you are drink-less, the peach one is definitley a good one to go with!

I have to agree with Ellen. I think the thought of the ride is what is so much scarier! I'm a big baby when it comes to rides and have only just recently started to enjoy Splash Mtn., BTMRR, and TestTrack. (although now I don't think TT is scary at all!) But they are sooooo much fun to ride! And that's what Lauren has realized also. She was absolutely terrified to ride RnRC, but once she did, she couldn't believe how much fun it was!

And, yeah - those rides where you feel yourself lifting out of your seat - NO THANK YOU! (I'm talking to you - ToT!:scared1: )

Don't say that scary stuff about ToT!! I HAVE to do it!! I'm going to put my fingers in my ears..I mean eyes...and say LALALALALA for any future scary comments about it!!

The Lost thread is on here? I will definitely subscribe. I'm addicted to that show. Absolutely fascinated.:worship:

Thanks to all for the RNR comments, I'm going to do it.:thumbsup2 I love ToT, RnR is the only ride that put fear:scared1: in me. Woooo hoooooooo I leave in 3 days.

I am HUGE LOST fan:hyper:

That is a such a sweet moment with Snow White. :lovestruc

Wasn't it? It amazes me - some characters have absolutely no hesitation in approaching Amanda! They are so wonderful!

Ladies - come over to the CB once the season starts; I'm sure someone will have a thread started by the episode one. There are usually two: one with spoilers and one w/out. There was someone on the spoiler thread that had ALOT of inside info last season. Personally, I don't like to know what's going to happen beforehand on that show -- the suspense is part of the joy of watching! Here's the thread from last season, in case you're interested:

It's true - Ellen said it perfectly - you can't tell when you're up side down and there's really no time when you fly out of your seat. No huge drops, it's the takeoff that is crazy! But I also agree with Ellen that you have to try it at least once!

And Ellen? ToT is so much LESS intense than RnR! Seriously, it's not a 13 story drop at all - it's all "disneyfied" and you know how Disney likes to mess with your mind. It's seriously just plain FUN!

Cammie - you crack me up so much with your Epcot drinks. I think that's why I like you and why we HAVE to spend an afternoon together in Epcot! Ever notice how your clothes fit great in the morning and by the time you get through the WS, the waistband is a little snug? :confused3 :lmao:

As for Lost toys, can I just say I'll take Sawyer as my boy toy????
