2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days. The girls have had a day off from school each of the last three weeks - which then really messes with my weekly schedule! We seem to be doing so much running around lately, I never seem to have enough time to sit down and play on the DIS!

Anyway........we've got 24 DAYS until Disney and I'm starting to feel slightly overwhelmed with all I have yet to do! Right now, I'm in the process of working with Amanda's equipment company to make sure they provide some of her equipment down there for me. I pack and ship alot of her things down myself but there are just some items I can't physically bring.

I've also put my order in with gardergrocer.com. This is the first year I'm using them and I hope it all goes smoothly. Usually I ship a box down containing some breakfast foods, snacks and a case of water. And then, I still have to hit the resort gift shop for the perishable items like milk, juice, etc. - which can get expensive. So this year, I'd thought I'd save myself some hassle (and hopefully some money) and see how gardengrocer was. For just about $50, I'm getting a case of water, milk, juice, fruit, cereal, granola bars, crackers, cheese, chips, salsa, wipes. Oh, and a box of those Entenmann's choc.donuts - which make the perfect late night snack when we get in from the parks! Anyway, I pay a $12 delivery fee and this all should be delivered to our room upon check in. I may not save a ton of money using this service but I know I'm saving myself the hassle of getting these things myself. And, that's my motto folks - if I can pay someone to do it for me, then it's money well-spent!

As for things I still have to do: I have to decide on what shoes I'm taking. I always take a couple pairs of Teva flipflops and just alternate; but thought I would look for something else. Well, I have yet to find anything I like, so it's looking like the Tevas again. I had also wanted to make matching shirts for the girls and I, plus shirts for my sister's family. But, after spending literally the past month trying to get my sister to give me her kids' favorite characters so I could put them on their shirts, I give up! I'm still going to try to get at least one set of matching shirts for myself, Lauren and Amanda to wear!:thumbsup2

Ok - I'm off now to a meeting down at Amanda's school this morning. I swear, I no longer find any time to get to the gym anymore - guess there goes my goal of losing a little weight before the trip! Will be back later with more plans posted.

Thanks for reading everybody!:flower3:

Yay for only 24 more days! Sounds like you've been really busy - hopefully the time will fly by!

I just bought a box of those Entenmanns donuts for our trip today!

24 days, 24 days!

I am so with you on the GardenGrocer.com order. I thought of shipping a box down with all the baby needs, then buying the perishables when we arrived, but really-it would just be a hassle and another "to do" before Disney fun! I haven't placed my order yet, but have a whole list of favorites.

I was looking for another pair of park shoes too-I have Keens, which aren't the prettiest, but are very comfy. I thought I might invesitgate the Mary Jane style Crocs, but I haven't ever seen Crocs for sale anywhere near my hickville town...so, I'll probably just end up with the Keens.

We are getting so close!! It's hard to believe...

Hi Cammie...its time for the single digits dance just in case you missed the other one....lol :dance3: :woohoo:

Hi Cammie! Glad you stopped by  I used gardengrocer last year and really loved it - wish they had one at DL! I hope your plans are going well, and all of your equipment needs are taken care of!

Since I like you all and Cammie's planning has stalled I could use some opinions on when to go in 2010 (we are one of the ones who only gets to go every couple of years).

Cassidy graduates at the end of May....so that can be an option or June, July into early August (maybe later August, depending on the college she chooses to attend).

Then I also need help in deciding which value/mod for the first part of the trip (we are AKL concierging at the end...I've promised her concierge for part of the trip).

Brook - Try to put your order is sooner rather than later. I know we're not going at a busy time but I've heard that delivery days can fill up and you may not be able to get your order on your preferred day!

Not single digits yet - but 22 DAYS!!!

Glad to hear you had a positive experience with GG. The control freak in me wanted to just shop, pack and ship my own supplies. Hopefully all will go well with me too!

STALLED?!! Oh - I'm planning baby - just haven't been good about posting about it. Now, thankfully with the weekend here, I'll be able to post some more info.

As for your question - we just went in June and man, was it HOT!!! I commented to a CM about how hot it was and he told me "you think this is bad; you should be here in July and August!":scared: But really, hot is hot; does it really matter if it's 95 degrees or 105 degrees? That being said, I think with August, you might have less crowds because some parts of the country are back at school; and you could possible have free dining. The down side though is that isn't that the start of hurrican season? June was tolerable; just had to plan a little more carefully.

As for the value vs. mods - I can't really help with that. We always stay in our DVC but I know there are others here who can give first-hand knowledge. I'll go bug my buddy Kara to get over here and give you her opinions!

And, I PROMISE - more plans to be posted soon! Bear with me people!

hee hee...my post worked:lmao: I figured you were planning (I think we are alike there) but just didn't have time to post.

We last went in July of last year and it was hot but it wasn't too bad...what I didn't like about it was the teen tour groups from h e double hockey sticks.

We closed on our house for my husband's 40th birthday so I hope to get DVC for mine!! Until then I am going have to split stays.

Go ahead - say it! Tour groups from Brazil!!!! Yeah, I've heard they are quite the hassle to deal with. Man, I would just not have the patience for that!

And.......I hope you're dropping some effective hints about that DVC! Good luck!

Wow, it sounds like life is kepeing you good and busy as of late. The good part though, is that that means the days leading up to Disney just fly by. I think that Garden Grocer list and price sounds like a great deal to me! I have never used them, but I have read almost all great things about them. I can't wait to hear about your latest planning details :thumbsup2

I think some of the worse I saw weren't from Brazil....let's just say Latin America doesn't get high points on behavior in a foriegn land. :rotfl:

And YOUR trip is just around the corner!
(think I'll pop over to your pre-tr to see what you've got planned!)

I'm thinking you should avoid going in July then!;)

OH sorry I meant me...just 7 more days till disneyland hijack out...lol

Single digit dance for you then ---
(and I'll add your pre-trippied to my list of ones to check out also!)

3 WEEKS FROM THIS MOMENT WE WILL BE IN ORLANDO!!!!:dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

So what will we be doing the week of our trip, you were wondering? Well, here's a brief rundown:

Sat., Nov.8th - Flight leaves Boston at 7:10 am (ugh - that's going to be TOUGH!); land in Orlando at 10:15am. Hopefully, ME will get us to the BW by noon. If our room isn't ready, we'll head over to my sister's room to dump our stuff off and then......it's off to Epcot to enjoy some F&W festival!!! We'll probably head back to the BW around 4pm to give Amanda a chance to get out of her chair and stretch out. I then have a MUCH anticipated DIS meet scheduled for @5-5:30 at the ESPN Zone on the Boardwalk. I'm hoping to meet for one (ONE!!!) drink with podsnel, TigerKat, and fmrcastmbr. Will then meet up with my sister and her family for dinner back in Epcot at Mexico at 7:15pm. We'll stay to watch Illuminations; I'll cry (as usual); then head back to the BW. May be able to meet up again with podsnel and TigerKat at the Bellevue Lounge (I'm counting on it, ladies!)

Sunday, Nov.9th- DHS for the day with my sister and her family; lunch ADRs at Primetime Cafe at 2:20. Evening - MK for pm EMH.

Monday, Nov.10th - Breakfast ADRs at Norway's Princess breakfast at 8:55; spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon at Epcot. Dinner ADRs at LTT in MK at 4:30pm then stay for MVMCP.

Tues., Nov.11th - Sister and family are leaving this afternoon, so we decided to use this as a pool day so the kids can all just hang together at the hotel. In the evening, the girls and I are off to DTD for shopping and then dinner ADRs at Fulton's at 7:30pm.

So these next few days are really disjointed. When I booked my ADRs at 180 days out, the Nov. park hours had not yet been released, so I just booked the meals at the places that were important and figured I would adjust when the hours came out. It's kind of a mess; but we're so lucky to go every year that I'm not really worried about having to hit EVERYTHING. Take a look at what I've got - any suggestions would be appreciated!

Wed., Nov.12th - We have the Fantasmic dinner pkg. booked at Mama Melroses at 3:50pm (man, I hate that early time!). Fantasmic is Lauren's favorite show and Amanda hasn't seen it in a couple of years so I really don't want to mess with this ADR. Guess this means we'll be at DHS (for the 2nd time) on this day.

Thurs., Nov.13th- Dinner ADR at 1900 Park Faire at 5:50pm. This one compels me to spend the day at MK then just head over to the GF - it would be the easiest thing to do. But we'll have already done MK twice so far and will definitely be spending our last full day (Sat.) there. AND -- this meal was a request of Lauren's (although I do have dinner ADRs booked here when we come back to celebrate her birthday in Feb.) So, I'm toying with the idea of cancelling and using this day to get over to AK. There's not alot I can go on at AK with Amanda, but there are alot of shows we enjoy there; just don't think this would be a whole day; would still need something to do for dinner and the evening.

Fri., Nov.14th - I'm thinking this will be our second pool day of the week, weather permitting. And since Amanda's nurse arrives this evening, we're having dinner at Epcot to make it easier for her to check in and just walk over to meet us. We have 7:50 pm ADRs at the Rose & Crown. It's also PM EMH so we intend on staying until midnight!

Sat., Nov.15th- As I already mentioned, our last full day is always spent at MK. Having the nurse with us will allow Lauren and I to enjoy some rides here together. Another tradition - our last night's dinner is always at LeCellier; so it's back to Epcot for a 7:05 ADR.

Sun, Nov.16th- Check out day.:sad2: Breakfast ADRs at Cape May Cafe at 10:15. You know, I book this every year and EVERY year, I cancel it because just can never seem to manage to pack, check out, and get over there. Again, having the nurse to help, should make this a done deal this year! Since our flight isn't until 7pm, I'm thinking we'll either walk around Epcot and ride our favorites again; or walk over to DHS to do a few things. Plus - I have ANOTHER much anticipated DIS meet scheduled -- my good buddy Kara and her daughter will be here this weekend, so I'm hoping to meet them sometime this day!:thumbsup2

So there it is! The first part of the week was really determined by Lauren and her cousins. This is the first time they'll all be there together so we let them pick what they wanted to do together - hence the two nights in a row at MK! So - what do you all think?

Sorry I haven't been around much, I'm obsessively hanging on the cruise boards.pirate: Looking forward to our meet, too!!!:yay:

Hi Cammie! On Thursay, what if you walked over to DHS, then took a break to get freshened up for dinner, and then took the bus to GF? Then you could take the monorail to MK or Epcot if you wanted after dinner. :confused3

You don't have much AK time in - does it get too hot for Amanda? I see there aren't many things she can do there.
