2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Hi Cammie! I missed your update :headache: So now I'm caught up! What a fun night Fantasmic and Illuminations all in one night. I don't know why they have you all the way in the back for Fantasmic. They should have a platform in the middle or something, like they do at sports stadiums.

I have a question - can you see a little of illuminations from BW?

Cammie I love your illuminations spot. That is where I plan to be for illuminations this year. I am glad to see it worked out well.

Wow - Lost on at 7 by you? I don't know if I could handle that! That show is so intense - I need to be on my couch, in the dark, with a glass of wine to watch. I hope you get to see it when you're there!

Thanks for the compliments about my hair. One problem though, and my hairdresser warned me - because I'm not highlighting, my greys are showing up alot sooner. I think I need to find that Clairol root toucher-upper thingy!

As far as your Florida weather - the way I look at it - ANYTHING will be better than the weather at home, right? We're going in Feb. and here in NE, it's usually close to 0 degrees and snowing; so anything above 50 degrees in WDW, and I'm wearing flipflops!:thumbsup2

Ya, I wish it was on a bit later because we usually have to record it and watch it after Henry goes to bed. But I do like it later, when I can curl up on the couch in the dark. (Though, sometimes I want the lights ON during that show!)

I'm SO AGREE about the Florida weather - our highs are in the single digits/negatives this week, so anything will be warmer. Hopefully we'll get some nice days though and we can dip into the pool a bit.

The food from Mama Melrose looks good! I still want to try it sometime since it did not work out this past trip. Maybe for our December adventures....

We saw Illuminations in 2006 from Italy, I thought it was a good spot too! We ate CS from Germany while we waited. I think we'll probably hit up that spot again, DH loves the brats - and one of those pretzels sounds really good to me right now!

No worries on the TRs - it's so hard to keep up on TRs and write your own. I feel like I'm always trying to catch up!!

Hey there!!!:wave2: Mama Melroses looks pretty good! I have never eaten there, I feel soooo left out! Cool illuminations pics- I just saw on another thread (the Disney Moms one) they have special glasses to wear that turn all the fireworks into little Mickey Heads!:thumbsup2 I think Lauren should replace her necklace with a pair of those!

It's so nice Amanda could help you out with your drinking again in WS!

Oh we sooooo need those glasses! I had xmas ones, that when you wore them at looked at your christmas tree, the lights would look like jingle bells - very cool!

And - Amanda is such a big help, isn't she?

And yes, I did happen to get those fantastic sunglasses.:cutie:
I would post a pic, but my computer's being weird.

Love the update! Oh my gosh, I have to have that necklace! So cool! Do you happen to remember where she got it?
Okay, I've decided that I will copycat Lauren and try one of those world famous pretzels. And a gelato from Italy . :yay:
 I love how convenient Amanda's tray is.

podsnel- I've heard about those too! I lurked DisneyJo's Moms Panel TR. Those glasses look too cool!

Yeah! So glad to hear you got those sunglasses! They will come in so handy for your trip -- which is SO CLOSE!!!! Lucky!

Try the pretzel - you will not be disappointed! But it has to be one from Germany - they taste the best. And we got those necklaces at a gift shop on Main St. in MK; and one from a shop in DHS. They were displayed on the counter by the register though; don't know if that's where they'll still be!

I hope you can check back in before you leave but if not - have a WONDERFUL time!

yeah, it was a great location! we were able to see the show really well and we even saw some of holiday wishes from MK from there! anna got a pretzel from germany and that made me want one. ray had walked back to japan to look at more of the anime toys while i saved our spot, so i texted him and asked him to get me a pretzel on the way back and when he showed up he had gotten one from america. when i made a fuss about it he said they were the same and i was like, "NO, THEY'RE NOT!!!!"

Ha!Ha! I just mentioned this in my above response -- Germany pretzels tastes MUCH better than any of the others. Straighten that hubby of yours out!;)

Cool pix!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

You're welcome, buddy!

Hi Cammie:wave2:

Amazing pictures, great TR, and your girls are beautiful.:)
My last trip we went to Mama Melrose and thought the food was really good. We had the calamari for an appetizer it was really good, but I wanted to order what you did. How was it, I will get it next time. Looking forward. to more pictures. Oh, I loved the snow pictures. I miss the snow :sad2: I am from N Y and moved to FL 2 1/2 years ago. No snow here.

My penne w/vodka sauce was really good - just very filling. I've always enjoyed my meals at Mama Melrose's.

As for missing snow - I used to say I would never want to live someplace warm because I would miss the snow too much; but when it's snowing every other day, and you're shovelling like twice a day - ummmm, no don't think I would miss it that much!

Patience is a virtue, my dear!

Funny you should ask that - stayed tuned! The next day I'll be posting about involves some Illuminations from the comfort of my patio!:thumbsup2

Cammie I love your illuminations spot. That is where I plan to be for illuminations this year. I am glad to see it worked out well.

It was a good spot. I think alot of people crowd around the area between Mexico and Cananda because they can just scoot out to FW and out to the busses when Illuminations is over. I think the further around WS you go, the less crowded it is.

Ok, so halftime of the Giants game is now over, so I need to go back to cheering them on. When the game is over, I'll be back on to post about our next day at MK! (Giants are losing, btw - 10-8!:headache: )

So the Giant game is back on but I just wanted to respond to this real quickly......

I had to laugh because when they pushed Lost back to 10pm, I didn't think I wanted to stay up that late so I would Tivo it. But watching in during the day just didn't have the same effect. It kills me staying up late to watch it though; I don't mind it ending at 11pm but I'm usually so worked up after it's over, it takes me awhile to fall asleep!

Yay - Giants' field goal! It's now 11-10!
(I'm worried though - Eli IS NOT looking good!)

just thought you'd like a hug. i was pulling for the giants today but it's a no-go. they were the last team i cared about in the playoffs. now i couldn't care less who even goes to the super bowl, much less wins. as long as it's not baltimore - i can't stand ray lewis.

Ohh - thank you! You're the first person to be sympathetic - well, you and Kara. Everyone else I know has been rubbing it in! (I DO live in N.E., so you can imagine!)

I'm soooo disappointed right now! After Arizona won last night, I thought we would have smooth sailing to the Super Bowl!:headache:

Giants lost :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Eli dropped the ball big time, no pun intended. I can't believe how bad he just played!

On the bright side, I can spend more time drinking in St John's bars next Sunday because we won't have to rush home to watch the game (see...there's always a silver lining!).:rotfl:

Just passing along our sympathy for the Giants defeat today. I hate, hate, HATE the Philadelphia Eagles! I'm going for the Steelers all the way now.

Darn Plaxico and his gun-toting habit.

At least we all have Disney to look forward to!! :woohoo:

WOW, Fantasmic and Illuminations in one night- that's some amazing sensory overload! I haven't seen Fantasmic in a number of years, but we are making a point to see it this year for sure!! Illuminations is my DF's favorite (I am torn between Wishes and Illuminations depending on the mood), so we usually catch that a couple times if we cane. I can't wait to hear more about this trip and you upcoming one also!!!

Subscribing!
I came across your report from June 08 and loved reading it. Reminds me of my November 08 trip with my Mummy!
Can't wait to read more!

I was in mourning all day yesterday. Not in a good mood AT ALL!

This is of no consolation to me!:snooty:

This is what is getting me through the day right now! We have little over a month before our next trip!:yay:

That's why I love the Epcot resort area (and park hoppers!;) ) - can do both in the same night! And I'm a sucker for Illuminations - I tear up every time!

Thanks for joining!:flower3: Mother/daughter time is precious, isn't it?

We've also been pulling for Eli and the Giants, now I don't really care who wins.

Day six found us getting up and heading over to Magic Kingdom for the day. I was also determined to see Tink and friends again since Amanda had been so sleepy when we saw them the night of MVMCP.

The weather had been very nice all week but today was the first day of a three day stretch of humid weather - and boy was it ever. As they would say up in here in Massachusetts: "It was wicked hawt!" I, of course, do not speak that way - I still have my refined Jersey accent, thank you very much!:snooty:

The Magic Kingdom looks so pretty when it's decorated for the holidays!

Oh who am I kidding? MK is pretty ALL THE TIME!

Now since it was so warm and my little Amanda DOES NOT enjoy the humidity, I knew she would have a tough day. She really wasn't comfortable so I tried to get into as many air-conditioned attractions as possible. First off - we saw Mickey's Philharmagic:

DSC03734.jpg

We then went over to ride Aladdin's Magic Carpets (hot); then into the Tiki Room (very cool); onto Jungle Cruise (hot); Haunted Mansion (cool).

A day at MK would not be complete without a stop at Casey's for lunch (2nd time eating here this trip! - Lauren loves her cheese fries!)

DSC03732.jpg

Since Amanda was still awake and in a fairly good mood, I decided it was time to get over to see the Fairies. Once again, the minute a CM saw us, we were pulled off the line and taken in the back way. (I love Disney!:) )

The room is so pretty!
DSC03735.jpg

I was happy to see that we were seeing different fairies, from the first time, along with Tink. First up was Iridessa. She was so sweet and really took alot of time to talk to Amanda!

DSC03736.jpg

DSC03738.jpg

At this point, I noticed Amanda was getting fussy and congested. In my mind, I'm just thinking "Please, please, please Amanda - just hang in there; Tink is NEXT!"

We made our way over......................

DSC03740.jpg

And then Amanda coughed in Tink's face! (well, not really; but I felt like it was). I was slightly mortified but I'm sure they've seen worse, right? Tink handled it like the easy-going fairy she is........................

DSC03742.jpg

Ok, photo op with Tink is done; I needed to get Amanda out of there - which left Lauren alone to meet with the last fairy - Rosetta:

DSC03743.jpg

Overall, mission accomplished! Amanda got to meet Tink while she was awake! YAY! After spending a little time in the gift shop, Amanda was relaxed again, and it was on to meet Mickey and Minnie!

DSC03748.jpg

Mickey couldn't stop giving Amanda eskimo kisses!

Then Minnie joined in..........

Continued in next post.................................

After leaving Toontown, we headed over to Tomorrowland to ride Buzz. At this point, I was just looking for attractions that would allow me to leave Amanda in her wheelchair. She was hot and not happy with me if I lifted her in and out.(moody teenager!)

We were able to stay on THREE TIMES in a row - and Lauren beat my score THREE TIMES in a row! Oh well - I was just happy to be in air-conditioning!

Since it had been awhile since we had seen the MK parade, I thought it would be a good idea to catch it this time. We headed over to our favorite wheelchair viewing spot - right across from the Hall of Presidents. It's in the shade and there's a brick wall to sit on - we were out of the sun and off our feet! We grabbed a snack.......
DSC03770.jpg

pretty soon, the parade began......................

We had dinner ADRs at 1900 Park Faire in the GF, so we decided to head over there once the parade was over. Of course, stop for a picture first (this was one of our xmas cards:santa: )........

DSC03772.jpg

I want one of these for my lightpost at home.....................
DSC03771.jpg

Now I knew we were still early in November but I was hoping to see some of the resorts decorated for the holidays already - especially the Grand Floridian. It always looks so festive there! Alas, though, as we entered the lobby, we were disappointed - NO decorations. And worse? They were still in the process of building the life-size gingerbread house. What a tease!

What a cruel joke this was:

DSC03774.jpg

It was opening the day after we left!:headache: Can you say BUMMER? So now I know, if you want to see all of the Christmas decorations up, you really need to wait and go after Thanksgiving! Won't make that mistake again!

Coming up next.........dinner with Cinderella and family; fireworks from somewhere?:confused3

Sounds like you had a very productive day at MK! So glad that Amanda was able to meet Tink while she was still awake.

You took some great parade pictures! :thumbsup2

Cammie, you managed to get in alot of "cool" attractions for Amanda! Looks like you had a great day - I love the way Amanda is looking at Iridessa, and she got to meet tink! Those fairies look so sweet!:lovestruc I'm still waiting for my answer....:rolleyes1

The Minnie/Mickey kisses made me cry!!! That has to be one of the sweetest things I've ever seen the characters do!!:lovestruc

And make sure you know where your cell phone is on Sunday afternoon!! St John bars are going to enjoy YOUR company, too!:snooty:
