Here is the question....

This June we are taking BIL and Niece with us to WDW and to help him with the cost we are putting Niece in our room for the Kids Stay and Play free offer and then he has the room only offer. Now Niece will stay most the time with us because her and DD don't like to be apart but I know there might be a time when they might want to go their own way.

If we are on the QSDP can he use her room key to get her a meal or snack or will we have to give him one of ours? Or do you think the hotel will be able to give us something that he can use when we are not together for her?

Thanks so much, I have looked but could not find another post on this. Well I looked a little :thumbsup2

If she is in listed in your room then her room key will work for her meals and snacks. BIL should just be able to keep that key on him since you'll have yours to access your room and your family's meals. Does that make sense?

Everyone in the same room will have one pool of credits so when niece is with you, you can use your key to pay for her meal/snack.

Great thanks :) I know sometimes they make it so a childs key really does nothing but get them into the park.

He can use her card. Not absolutely sure about this but depending on her age (<9yo) he might have to order off the children's menu to use "her" credits. He can still order a regular quick service meal but it will use one of "your" adult dining credits.

I doubt they will give you something because technically you aren't allowed to share or buy food for anybody that isn't on the dining plan.

As far as I know, any child's KTTW card can access the room/unit, be used as a park pass, and accesses dining plan credits. Room charging privileges have to be explicitly added, but that's true for adult cards as well.

Shes not asking if the BIL can use the girls credits for himself. OP just wanted to make sure he could use the KTTW to get food for the girl.
And as PP have said yes all cards have the same entitlements on them. Every card will have the persons park tickets, room entry and all meals available for the entire group.

Since your niece's card will have her park ticket it will have to travel with her anyway.
