2 Extra Points?

I don’t think this is too far off topic, but I had a couple questions on points transfers. Do the points that are being transferred retain all of their attributes? So I have a June UY and a Poly contract. If someone with a Poly contract and say a December UY transfers me points, can I use them exactly like I can my Poly points, or do I have to use them in the context of their use year, in this case, December?

Second question, if I don’t own at the resort I am receiving via transfer, can I book at the 11 month mark using those transferred points?

Last one, the points that I receive via transfer, if they are resale points are they restricted? So I couldn’t use those points at another resort like Riviera even if I own direct?

The points come in with all of the same UY and restrictions they had from the original owner. Transferring them to you won't allow them to change UY or remove restrictions sadly. I've only done one transfer but I was lucky as I did have the 2nd UY so they kind of just showed up as a temporary contract in my dashboard and I was able to just use them fairly easy without calling MS.

Doesn't Disney/DVC allow members to donate their points to some of the Make a Wish or Give Kids the World charities they help with? I'm guessing if enough of us members have a stray point or two that we cant make use of we could at least throw them into a pile and with enough of them it could help a family in need have a magical stay. At the end of the day it's likely all fungible when it's a few months out and I'm guessing DVC/Disney counts that into the breakage inventory they already sale/use for this purpose, but at least we can feel a bit better about the loss

I'm not sure of Make a Wish but I'm pretty sure GKTW doesn't accept them if I remember correctly.
