2 Different home resorts

Im in the process of doing my research before buying into DVC and I have a question regarding 2 home resorts.

We have been on a rotation of going every 18 months and we rotate from BLT to BCV. According to my research, if we keep this rotation up and the months remain the same (May & Nov) I would need about 250 pts per year.

If we buy 125 pts at BLT and another 125 at BCV, would I be able to combine all the points and use/book them at either one of the home resorts 11 months out or would I have to book at the 7 month window?

At 11 months, points are separate by home resort. You can't combine points from different home resorts until 7 months from check-in.

We have 2 home resorts and treat them separately.
You can buy the amount of points you need and bank them for use every other year. For example, if you need 150 points every year at one resort buy 75 and bank them - do the same with the other.

But you can bank and borrow to accomplish your goal. If you rotate and travel every 18 months, then you visit each resort once every three years, right?

So, year one, you bank and borrow all points from your 125 point BLT contract and take a 375 point trip. 18 months later, you use banked and borrowed points from your 125 BCV contract to take a 375 point trip.

You might need to stagger your purchase to ensure your banking/borrowing timeframes line up.

I need to run the numbers again but I think I will need, for a 2 bedroom villa, 135 pts at BCV and 170 pts at BLT. This would get me 6 nights every 18 months.

I'm confused by your points calculation and "18 month" statement. I interpret your list as "two trips every 24 months," or "Each resort every other year." Is that the total points you need for each trip? If so, you'd want an 85 point contract at BLT with an October use year, and a 70 point contract at BCV with an April use year.

Sorry, once I put everything into excel it much clearer.

BLT - 2 bedroom MKV - November = 334 pts
BCV - 2 bedroom - May = 270 pts

November 2015 - BLT
May 2017 - BCV
November 2018 - BLT
May 2020 - BCV
November 2021 - BLT
etc...

By my calculation, I will need 90 pts at BCV with an April use year and 112 pts at BLT with an October use year. Obviously I will have to bank points before we start using unless I can find a seller with enough already banked.
