We (myself, wife, girls 10/12) arrive at Universal tomorrow (staying @ Hard Rock) for the first time as a family and our (wife & I) first time in 14 years. For the two days we are in UOR (followed by 5 in WDW), what do you recommend as a touring plan to get the most in for the time we have there? We have park to park tickets.

Thanks!

It really depends on what you want to do and how long you will be in the parks vs CityWalk/pools/etc. Are you big HP fans?

Even though you have EPs, I would still try to hit rope drop for whatever park has EE. We typically start at the HP area and do a loop of that park. Lines in the morning should be very short, allowing you do do lots of rides/wand casting/etc. You'll probably notice crowds start to pick up at 10 or 11, but EP lines should remain short. If you are HP fans, then you will want to take the Hogwarts Express to the other park.

Next day, start in the other park and do the same thing.

There are some non-EP rides like Hagrids and Velocicoaster that you do need to make special plans for. There are plenty of threads for those. Also, the Bourne show doesn't take EPs and is quite popular. When we went, they were distancing parties, and the theater filled quickly. So you might want to get in line early for that.

If you don't have reservations (which are highly recommended these days), try to eat at off hours.

We are HP fans, but not fanatics. That said, the HP section is the most looked forward to for us. Bourne recently was added to Express so that will be helpful. We plan on taking afternoon breaks then hopping to the other park. We have dining reservations at Toothsome, Margharitaville and Mythos (lunch), We will go to Citywalk on our arrival day.

The great thing about Express Pass is that you don'y need too many plans. The only 3 experiences without EP are Velocicoaster, Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure, and Olivander's Wand Shop.

If you want to do Olivander's, then do it early in the morning your first day, ideally during early entry. If you just want a wand and don't care as much about the experience of possibly being chosen by one, you can also just buy them in the main gift shops near the entrances of each parks.

Velocicoaster has had a pretty reasonable wait and also has a single rider line, so you don't need to get in line super early.

Hagrids uses a virtual queue, but is open for standby during early entry. So if you're not getting a wand a Olivander's, then I would suggest going here.

For everything else, you can really just go on any attraction whenever you want. The longest wait you'll have is probably 20 to 30 minutes for the Hogwarts Express, and everything else is 5 to 15.
