2 day park hopper tickets bought in 2001 are they expired ?

Ok I bought these at AAA in 2001. They are a 2 day park hopper for Universal and IOA. When I bought them I'm pretty sure the lady at AAA said they did not expire, thats why I saved them all these years. I know they have 1 day left on them. I called Universal and asked them if they were still good and he said no they expire 14 days after the first use. But if I take them to the customer service desk they may upgrade them or convert them or something. I'am not happy because I was told they had no expiration and it does not say on them they expire after 14 days or have an expiration date on them ? Does anyone know if this guy is wrong ?

In all probability, the lady at AAA was either incorrect or not clear. I'm not aware of any tickets sold by UO that have a non-expiring option once activated. They don't expire if they are unused, but once they are activated you must use them within 14 days. Disney does the same thing (though it may not be 14 days, I'm not sure) unless you pay extra specifically for the non-expiring option.

Its possible tickets in 2001 had the no expiration option but there is no such thing now. All tickets have expiration dates once activated. If you don't see anything on the actual ticket that says they expire, you could be OK. Guest Services will be able to tell you for sure but you'll have to wait until you arrive to find out...unfortunately.

There is nothing on them that says they expire. That wouldnt be right if I bought non expiring tickets and now they say they are not good

I agree and tickets have changed a lot since 2001 so Guest Services is about your only choice to find out what kind of tickets you have.

We just went to Universial the last week of Nov. 2010 and I had a day left on tickets that we bought in 2001. The tickets I bought was bought from universial when they had buy 2 days get 1 day free. So that was a 3 day park hopper ticket. We had used 2 days. So in Nov. when we went the guy at the gate sent us to customer service to get a ticket the new system could read. Well any way when we got the tickets and went back to the gate, the new ticket said on the computer that we had a 3 day park to park non expiring ticket. So instead of just giving us a new ticket for the 1 remaining day we had customer service gave us the whole 3 days. For Free.
So yes you can use tickets from 2001. And they can fix the new tickets so that they never expire.

I'm going in Aug. and booked a package with tickets, but I have 2 old tickets with one day left on each.....I think I'm going to have to take them and see if they are any good!!! These are from before 2001!! One I got as a free ticket when I worked at AAA and the other I bought at AAA.

During 2001, the multi-day tickets were non-expiring except for the Adventurer and the Star tickets (the kind you get free at time shares). The tickets were also park-to-park tickets back then.

I had a similar situation! I ran across a ticket that was purchased in 2001 also before my trip this June. The ticket was a 3-day 2-park ticket. I used 2 days in 2001 but I knew there was 1 remaining day on this ticket and back then the tickets did NOT expire! I took the ticket to guest services (its after the booths where you purchase tickets) and the customer service rep had a hard time reading the numbers off of my ticket because the back was very faded. I was honest and told him that it only had one day remaining with 2-park access. 1st he offered to replace it with a 1 day 1 park ticket I was disappointed but I accepted it gratefully (he didn't have to offer me anything because the numbers were very hard to read), he then changed his mind and said he would issue the ticket with 2-park access!

Good luck, its always worth a shot to try. Get to the gates/park very early as it took about 15-20 minutes of my park time to get the ticket replaced.

S/N: Now I know I have a 2nd ticket that was purchased at the same time in 2001, I just have to find it!

Wow that was good. Mine are faded also except one and it is very readable. So maybe if I have one they can read, they will believe the others are the same.
