2 Christmas Parties?

We will be going to Disney this December the week of the 11th, and we are planning on attending a Christmas party.

Does anyone think it would be worthwhile to attend 2 Christmas parties?

We are not going to be in the parks for all of our vacation. I was thinking of going to 1 party, and 1 day in the magic kingdom. Then I thought of attending 2 parties instead.

However, Christmas and Halloween are the only times of year where in essence you can get a discounted afternoon admission. If we arrive at 4, that would give us 8 hours in the park for about $60.

The full day admission is over a hundred dollars now, and I doubt we would be there for more than 8 hours.

We went to a Halloween party last year and felt we got our money's worth. We saw and did a lot, and the lines were very manageable.

Plus, we are going for the Disney Christmas experience, which we would definately get at night with the holiday lights lit.

Has anyone ever done this before? Any pros / cons?

:) Dh and I have done this several times. Mainly because we don't want to go back to the room at 9 p.m. In the fall EPCOT hosts F&W and Friday nights there are busy because of EMH, DHS and AK close early so MK for a party is a great way to see the sights and enjoy the magic of the season. I don't see a problem with it at all and we have enjoyed spending our money this way. We are DVC and have APs but we still enjoy two or three nights of parties.

I didn't understand people on the boards saying they were going to 2 MVMCPs until last year when I went to a sold out party. There was a lot of party stuff we did not get to do (and we did not ride a single ride). Waits for the special characters were long, you had to get a spot early for parades, shows and fireworks - there just wasn't enough time. If I ever get to go in December again, I would probably do 2 parties. We all loved it.

We haven't done the Christmas party, but we've done two MNSSHP's the past two trips and will again this year. We love the party nights - we've seen all the activities and it's a great time for rides (we rode BTMRR seven times in a row one year, without having to exit the ride). It's our favorite thing to do now, so we budget for it.

It sounds like a good way to save money! You can enter the park at 4 so you will have lots of time. We have used party days in the past as a resort morning then to the parks and didn't add an extra park hopper day that day to offset the cost.
