Maybe I was dreaming, but I thought I read that there's a sailing in Nov 2004 with 2 CC days (as it did in 2003). Does anyone remember the sail date? My TA knows of no such.

Thanks

Sue from Boston

I found this post, is this the one you were speaking of?

How 'bout some of those lucky cruisers like the 11/23/03 Western cruisers that were able to dock twice??? Once Monday and then again Friday??

It is the Thanksgiving Western, I believe it is 11/20/04. We were on the 2003 one and it was great. CC is on Sunday and Friday. Sunday was regular tropical CC and then Friday it was turned into a winter wonderland with Carribean Christmas music, the wonderful Snowflakes drink, and Christmas decorations. We even had the day after Thanksgiving sales! It was like they were 2 totally different ports. I highly reccomend it.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, it's one of the more expensive sailings. Don't think we can afford that one.

I believe there is a powerboat race in Key West that weekend and it makes it difficult for the ship to doc. That was the reason for the 11/23/03.

Not to say that it would happen again, but when we booked, it was very expensive as well. We booked in May so we had several months to make payments, since it is January now, it might be manageable. Anyway, my mom & step-dad was going with us and they are FL residents and I asked about specials and the FL rate. My travel agent told me that he really didn't think they would offer specials on this one because of the 2 CC days and being a holiday and all but he would let us know if they did but not to count on it. In July or August, someone posted that FL rates were posted for our cruise. I called my agent and he told me he would call but only moms room would be changed, and I told him that was a $1500 difference and that was fine with us. He called me back the next morning and said only one FL resident had to be in a room and since we had connecting rooms, he put on FL resident in each room and got FL rates on all of us and we got back over $3400. We instead upgraded from 2 connecting cat 10's to 2 connecting 5's with verandah and instead got back around $1100. I think they also had specials for non FL residents too because it never did sell out. The ship never felt crowded at all. Hopefully maybe the price will drop on this one as well and then you could book it. So never stop checking prices.

Vgaskin,

Thanks again, will keep this in mind and keep checking prices. I'm book on a sea/land for 12/19/04 but reading about crowds after Christmas is making me think twice.
