2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Another fun movie night. Oh could I go for some homemade icecream!!! We use to make it every summer with my grandfather. Used those hand cranks too. Eventually we got one of those there electric icecream makers, lol!!

Love the movie night! Your homemade ice cream is making me wish we hadn't sold our ice cream maker! We had one that we got for our wedding and used it twice in 10 years so DH made me get rid of it :(

By the way do you still need rain? We have about 20 extra inches you can have your way. It has been raining for days here and it's flooding everywhere! Christian missed the bus today and by the time I was taking him to school all the main roads were closed so it would have taken me hours to get him to school. I called the school and they said to keep him home that it would be an excused absence. I have family that is stuck in their houses because the roads out of their neighborhoods are all flooded :scared1: So like I said, come get this rain :rotfl:

Sorry this is so late being posted...Boo had his last x-ray/dr. appointment for his arm, Ab had a late game cheering tonight...I am tired...

I live in very rural Indiana. We are a 2 hour drive to the airport. So even though our flight looks to be 11:30 we have to leave by 7:30. We are returning on the 31st, although my DH asked about changing to the first. We will see how the airfare plays out for the next week or so. I hadn't put much thought into the logistics of how to blow up the balloons and wrap them at the last minute. We have a helium tank already for birthday parties and such. Just wondering where to buy the actual balloons. Was thinking of taking them to the airport and giving the balloons to kids coming off the plan to extend the magic for another family. must get back to the potty training I'm determined to get this done

Noelle

I found big Mickey head balloons on Amazon. My dolphin balloon and HP balloon I got on eBay. What a cool idea to extend the magic on Christmas morning! That would be a cool idea...but sadly we are the first flight out of the airport in the morning and being a regional airport...

:scared1:Potty training...that brings up yucky thoughts (my dd trained herself before she was 2 night and day...the boys on the other hand...YUCK. Good luck!
Love the Huck and Finn movie night and craft! And food! My stomach is growling... :lmao: May have to hit chickfila on the way home... :sad2: <just say no!> :rotfl:

I will let you know if movie night works out this weekend! :thumbsup2

Can never go wrong with chickfila...:rotfl:

I have a ice cream machine at the cabin...that is really the only time during the year we use it...and then only at 4th of July. My dh grandmother has 2 awesome recipes that I use...

I sure would love some of your rain...your extra 20 inches would put us about to normal! At least for the week the heat wave has broke! Keep safe! How about I just come visit?

Since it is Friday...I think I will ask 2 questions (one this morning and 1 later this afternoon) which will give you the title of our movie tonight with the K-Quad cousins!

I'm going to sit this one out. We didn't get a DVD player until 2001, and I know there were plenty of movies out before then.

I am having a hard time with this one. Was it Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?

Hmmm... I want to go with Little Mermaid... but I'm just not sure. I know Finding Nemo won an academy award... and Toy Story... and Tarzan had some... :rotfl:

Okay - Little Mermaid but let me know if I'm not right and even close on the others... :lmao:

Lion King - for the soundtrack?

BTW, I googled it and got the same answer as Ann - Mary Poppins. But we all know you can't believe everything on the internet.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_movie_became_Disney%27s_first_DVD_when_it_released_in_1988

"Mary Poppins was first released in the Early 1980s on VHS and laserdisc. In 1994, it was re-released as part of the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection. In 1998, this movie became Disney's first DVD."

Hmmmm... very interesting... :scratchin

I googled it also earlier and found the same answers, Mary Poppins and Snow White. Gosh when you can't trust google what can you trust? :rotfl:

Yes, I googled and got Mary Poppins...but even when I read it i wasn't entirely sure that was right.

Hmmm Beauty and the Beast? It won an academy award, right?

Hmm... very interesting... maybe not though since it a moritorium was placed on home release of it in 1992. However, this is the information on it and any academy awards it received...

"Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's song "Beauty and the Beast" won the Academy Award for Best Music, Song, while Menken's score won the award for Best Music, Original Score. Two other Menken and Ashman songs from the film, "Belle" and "Be Our Guest", were also nominated for Best Music, Song. Beauty and the Beast was the first picture to receive three Academy Award nominations for Best Song, a feat that would be repeated by The Lion King (1994), Dreamgirls (2006), and Enchanted (2007). Academy rules have since been changed to limit each film to two nominations in this category.

The film was also nominated for Best Sound and Best Picture. It was the first animated film ever to be nominated for Best Picture, and remained the only animated film nominated until 2010, when the Best Picture field was widened to ten nominees. It lost to the critically acclaimed thriller The Silence of the Lambs.

With six nominations, the film currently shares the record for the most nominations for an animated film with WALL-E (2008), although, with three nominations in the Best Original Song category, Beauty and the Beast's nominations span only four categories, while WALL-E's nominations cover six individual categories."

Wow...and I thought I was competitive!:lmao: look at you all trying to figure this out...I hoped google site was not wrong! Hidden clue in question...it is a movie night we are doing tonight! If you remember I have done most of the movie nights you mentioned!

Okay...I give I find about a million different answers to my question for Friday ...how about I just post a new one?:woohoo:

Redo Friday Question:

How many times does Pinocchio's nose grow in the movie?

During the musical number "When You Wish Upon a Star," when a spotlight is seen on Jiminy Cricket, one is able to see two books to the left of the screen, which are ______________________?

Tammie I just found the answer and come on here to find you changed it :rotfl:

Sadly even though we just watched the movie again last week I don't know the answers to the new questions :(
