2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

So thrilled to have found your PTR yesterday. We are suprising our DD 2&7 on Christmas morning as well. I have been looking for a group to plan with but all I was able to find was earlier in Dec. travelers. Going the week between Christmas and new years takes a different approach than early December due to the crowds. We are staying at POR. We are stalking airfare but will be booking regardless of prices soon. We will have an early flight but probably be at MCO for lunch and have ADR at Boatwrights for Christmas dinner. This is our second trip as a family, we went last summer. My DH loves Disney almost as much as I do 8^). I'm potty training DD this weekend (trying to anyway) and have had extra reading time.

Noelle

Noelle-
Glad you found me! :yay::woohoo: The time we are going is hard...do I join a December group or a January group? Actually anyone that is going sometime during the Christmas season I am following along. We are staying most of Christmas week at Universal and Discovery Cove...so I am hoping that will let us enjoy WDW starting the 29th with a little less stress of the holiday week crowds! I am using touringplans, easy WDW, and ridemax to make this trip and crowd levels work...commando all the way! :rotfl2:

I enjoyed POR when I stayed there last summer...as for our Christmas dinner I have a placed picked out at City Walk that I think DH will really enjoy and will be a little dressy and special for Christmas...will reveal it as soon as I make reservations on September 26th! I sure hope they will be open...

I am so excited about surprising the kids on Christmas morning. While most of my plans are laid for the reveal I am still working out the final reveal that morning...just because our our flight time...7:50 am! Which means we need to leave for the airport by 6:15 (we only live 15 minutes away from our regional airport....thank goodness for that). So that means an hour to get reveal, dressed/ready, and out the door..thinking 5:00 am :scared1: after not getting in from midnight mass until almost 12:00 am (our midnight mass starts at 10:00 pm...) We arrive at MCO around 3:30 pm, so it is going to be a long day of travel and excitement (my 2 boys have never flown before).

I have not booked our return flights yet...still up in the air as to coming back on the 6th or th 7th...plan on booking this month...

Tuesday's Trivia Question:
Which Disney Full Length Animated Fetaure was the last one to use a storybook as an introduction in the begining of the movie?

Robin Hood!

21st animated feature.

It was the first after Walt's death that had no input from Walt in it.

As the film was made during Disney's financial slump and therefore allotted a small budget, the artists reused footage from previous animated features. This is most noticeable during the song-and-dance number, "The Phony King of England"; the characters' movements strongly resemble those from The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I googled it because I figured how the heck could anyone actually know the answer to that one :lmao: Yes it is Robin Hood.

Point to you for checking to see if the answer was right! Way to use your resources!

Was it Robin Hood?

Very good...point to you. BTW you are fast...were you stalking me?!

WOW, great trivia on this one! I knew the first 2 facts...but I did not know about the financial issues surrounding it. Now I am going to have to watch the phony king number and see if I can find the resemblance! 3 points to you!

I was thinking about your big reveal on Christmas morning along with the early flight after not getting home on Christmas Eve until midnight and was curious....Do ya'll have a Children's Mass on Christmas Eve or are you set on the Midnight (or 10 pm) one? I'd say maybe it would be a little less hectic to do an earlier Mass?? Then again....there is something amazing about Midnight Mass.
just curious....
I really enjoy your report!

Good questions...

We attend a small parish church outside of our city and we only have 1 mass...10 pm. Ab usually plays the violin for mass and Boo last year played his guitar as part of mass or possibly alter serves...they look forward to being part of the mass and it would be a big issue if they did not get to take part and if we attend a different mass/different parish they will know something is up! So I guess I am kinda stuck. I have considered sneaking into the house while we are at MIL/FIL Christmas eve before we head to mass together and set out the reveal presents...and reveal right after we get home from mass...but then I doubt there would be ANY SLEEPING after that. So 4-5 hours of sleep seem a better plan. We will have an early night on Christmas Day (just dinner, hope to be in bed by 9:00 pm Orlando time...which will be 8:00 pm at home) cause December 26th we have to be up and in line for early entry at Harry Potter by 6:30 am! :scared1:

Yeah. The dancing number's are almost exact copies. Like Duchess and Thomas dancing and Robin and Marian do the same dance moves.

Haha I get the email updates of when everyone replies to the thread. So when I am feeding my daughter I sit her up on my lap after she has her bottle for a half hour for her to digest her formula and check my emails at the same time. You always seem to post the questions when I am feeding her...haha

You are going to be one exhausted person on Dec 25th!

Yep...thinking on how I can get everyone to take a nap Christmas Eve:rolleyes1...we usually take in a movie that afternoon as somewhat a tradition, then head to MIL/FIL for dinner and the kids open their gift of clothing (PJs for Christmas Eve...this year I got Ab Tinkerbell, Boo gets Harry Potter bottoms, and Goo has Lightning...I have most of my shopping done and it is only beginning of September...), and then head to mass.

And here I tried to change up the time...darn not sneaky enough!:rotfl:

:) My daughter's newest craze is Lilo and Stitch... we've watched it 3 times today since I picked her up from daycare at 5. So goes around asking us if we know what Tuna is? lol

Trying having a 14 year old quoting Nemo all the time...and she knows how much Dory annoys me....:lmao:

It is amazing how much kids take in from watching movies and can quote lines back at you after watching it once!

On a long car trip once Goo watched CARS at least 5 time straight and by the end of the trip...we all had seen it well over 10 times. UGH...I think I can quote the whole movie. We are on DVD #4 of that movie...talk about wearing a DVD out...it can be done!

That is going to be hard to do because she has 6+ bottles a day and she is too young for a schedule right now. I feed her on demand still. Now I feel bad other people haven't had a chance to answer...haha I will not answer the next few to give other people a chance.

Ah......now it makes sense. You gotta do what you gotta do. Since you plan on getting to bed fairly early on Christmas night and get straightened out for the next day, I'm sure ya'll be fine. We're sort of doing a crazy first day too with flying out early and staying up for the Christmas party all the first day. But...we get to sleep in the second day so that should be fine. I can handle one sleep deprived night, just not two in a row.

It does seem like the scavenger hunt reveal would be a little more fun the night before when you don't feel so rushed to get a plane, yet I can totally see how it will pump up the kids and you'd never get them to bed! You guys are going to have so much fun!! I can't wait to hear all about every detail!

No, don't stop answering...I just figured that no one was stalking me. I kinda like it...makes me feel like someone cares what I have to say (and after working with a room full of teachers today I would like someone to care about what I have to say...goodness knows they didn't today)!
