So we booked 2 studios at poly for April and now realize we can probably get a 2 bedroom villa for about 15 points more. We are a group of 7 ( 2 adults 2 children and 2 adults 1 child- ages 10,9,8). Any recommendation on a 2 bedroom. They have Boulder ridge, copper creek, SSR, OKW, BLT, available. What’s the difference between CC and BR? I was hoping for BC or BWV but they are unavailable 1 night that I need. I’m hoping it will come up.
Thank you all for your help
Stay safe

I just looked at the 2 bedroom refurbished at SSR, they look beautiful. Is any standards done?

CC is in the main lodge and newer. BRV has it's own building and is scheduled for a refurb in 2022. I would go with CC if it is available since it's harder to book than BRV.

CC. If you have enough points (without borrowing, etc.), maybe you can put in for BC or BWV with a waitlist?

Edit: Oops, I didn't see that BLT was on your list. I would go with BLT for the easy walk to MK.

I know AKL was not on your list but a 2BR at Kidani is one of the lower point options and it has 3 bathrooms.

Others come up at times even more so this year if you waitlist the missing nights likely so I will just rate in general:

  1. BLT - Close to MK
  2. BWV - Walk to two parks (you probably can get a Garden View)
  3. CCV - Shared deck across all rooms
  4. BRV - Not in main building and slightly older
  5. AKV - Resort is great with savannas but have to bus everywhere
  6. 2 Studios at Poly - Good location, nice resort, but bad setup compared to 2BR
  7. OKW - Largest 2BR but spread out, multiple bus stops, and really need a rental car
  8. SSR - Spread out and no guarantee of refurbed room (maybe in Preferred???)
Just going off personal view as if I am going to WDW and paying the crazy prices then I want proximity to parks and avoiding busses the whole time.

Most Standard rooms should be completed by April. At the pace they are going most of the Standard rooms will be done by then. All preferred rooms have been finished. At least 2 of the Paddock buildings are completed, working on the other 2 and Carousel area is next, it has 3 buildings. The Grandstand is last.

If you have always wanted to stay at CCV, then the fact that it's currently available and is typically hard to book could be a reason to book it.

If you don't have any particular desire to stay at CCV, then the fact that it's currently available and is typically hard to book might not be a compelling reason to book it.

Are the CCV 2-bedrooms smaller than the 2-bedrooms at other resorts? That could impact someone's decision.

CCV is the smallest and SSR is the 2nd smallest at WDW for 2 Bedrooms.

Yes VGF and RIV are dramatically bigger but also more points. Also I wouldn't say OKW makes up the location factor vs CCV.

Just remember that SSR, BWV, BCV and BRV are all the same general design and only a few sq feet in size difference (1-13 sq ft for 2 bedrooms), probably un noticeable.

AKV Value is the smallest for the 2 bedrooms at 945 sq ft, but very limited and very hard to get.

I’m a little weary of CCV 2 bedroom actually being 1051 sq ft. A studio is 338 sq ft and a 1 bedroom is 675 sq ft. Those together is 1013 sq ft. 2 bedrooms are generally within a sq foot or two of those combined for example SSR studio 355 and 1 bedroom 714= 1069 sq feet. It is listed at 1070. Not sure where they are making up 38 sq ft from for CCV 2 bedroom. CCV does have a few alternative studios, they are similar shape to a 1 bedroom but smaller than a 1 bedroom but larger than a studio. They are all lock offs to a 1 bedroom, so part of a 2 bedroom lock off. It is hard to find the size of the alternate studio, I think there are 5 or 6 of them.

Normally they show 2BR dedicated so it could be different. With CCV being "fit in" to an existing building makes sense they did the dedicated to squeeze in max rooms. Not 100% that is the reason for the difference though.

I had research a few different resources pulling together the chart so if you have something that states differently happy to update the charts.

Correct on AKV Value. I hadn't included any of the Value or Club rooms from AKV to keep the chart more simplistic.

I didn't realize how similar CCV and BLT studios were square footage-wise. That separate kitchenette room in BLT makes it feel SO much smaller in the actual living/sleeping space.

Every site I see lists dedicated and lock off 2 bedrooms for CCV as 1051 sq ft. Without DVC posting actual sq ft it is hard to know where the error is. I don’t see many people on vacation with tape measures. It appears Club at AKL are the same as the regular rooms, not the value rooms.

DVC does post the square footage though they don't have it broken down into lockoff vs dedicated and don't show different numbers for things like value rooms.

OKW because the rooms are largest, the vibe is the most relaxed and it's just the best kept secret in WDW.

Yup and there is conjecture if that is specific to an actual room or some average of the category or just the largest of the rooms or possibly which lever has the most rooms in the category.

Wth that mix, I would be tempted to get a Treehouse villa at SSR - Provided you have a a car(s) van at your disposal....

CCV will only have beds for eight, lockoff or dedicated. BRV will have beds for nine in a lockoff, eight in a dedicated. OKW will have the most space and beds for nine.
